One of the best in the premiership? Definitely but I don't think he's quite in the top two. Still a little to prove but I agree he has the potential to me one of the very best.

And I agree he would be our biggest signing. I think he's exactly what we need to complete the attacking line-up and make it a genuine top 4 line-up. Maybe even THE BEST attacking line-up in the league in terms of squad.

Torres/Gerrard might be better as a first choice but we'd have better options and back-up.
1. Torres
2. Rooney
3. Anelka
4. Drogba
5. Adebayor

a top five striker in the best league in the world is still a very good thing to get.

however adebayor CAN drift about between 3rd best and 5th/6th best, he can even get 2nd best sometimes, but he will never seriously rival Torres.
Well they've had similar seasons to be fair. Great season before last, not as great last season due to injuries etc..

Similar sort of age. I think Ade suits us much better.

Anyone else think it's weird talking about a striker called Ade who's 2nd name isn't Akinbiyi? I'm chuffed.

My take on this saga is this....

You come home from holidays and find that the wife has packed your bags, fair enough you maybe hadn't been seeing eye to eye with her lately but you still scored loads of times a year with her. it takes a few days to get over the shock but then your mate tells you that he has found you a new wife and she has even bigger tits, so of you go and score loads of time with the new wifey.

(:

I'll get my coat!

agred mate - I sympathise with him a bit as it seems to have been agreed behind his back, but he has flirted with other parties behind the arse's back enough times himself

imo the top 4 strikers in the prem are:

1. Torres
2. Drogba
3. Adebayor
4. Anelka

bearing in mind that Drog and Elk are in the last couple of years of being top players and Ade being 25 then i would say behind Torres he would be the best prem striker we could choose to have.

i disagree i think paul dickov was one of the best ever!!!!!!!and still could be

i know yh m8 defo im with you on that one

Change your paper from something other than the mirror mate.

The Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has flown to Manchester for a medical ahead of his proposed £25m move to Manchester City.

Adebayor, 25, is expected to sign a £150,000-a-week deal at Eastlands, where he will join the likes of Carlos Tevez, Robinho and Roque Santa Cruz in a star-studded attack.

He had asked for time to consider the move, and was apparently concerned about being perceived as money-driven if he should leave a club that is hugely popular in Africa and go to one that has a much lower standing.

Now it seems Adebayor has to decided to become the last piece in City's expensive jigsaw, and is likely to formally sign for the club in the next few days.

From the Guardian 12.58 apologise if posted already!
