Adebayor to Spurs for £8million?

Bit peeved about only £8m but that plus losing his wages of £150k/week (ish) means we are getting in around £24m for a player we are never going to use. It'd be different if we used him as, personally, I wouldn't add in his wages then. That statement maybe doesn't make financial sense but it's how I feel.

He isn't going to be replaced as he hasn't been used for 2 seasons, assuming when Tevez goes we'll get a replacement (4th choice) striker in based on his transfer. We'll probably keep Guidetti as 4th choice next season based on his showing in the Eredvisie.

Let's face it, once Ade gets his permanent move theres a >70% chance he'll turn into the mard-arse, lazy, permanently offside striker that he was when we loaned him out.

Just losing Ade will make our annual accounts £12.5m better (£5m amortisation and £7.5m wages). Put another way, our £160m loss (excluding the one-off write-off) just went down from £160m to £147.5m with one transfer - a reduction in losses of 8%.

I agree with you on most of what you said except the red part.
If Mancini can't utilize a player like Adebayor, doesn't mean other managers can't !

He is one of the main reasons why Spurs are still title contenders.

Ade does the same everywhere he goes. Hell he's been crap in large spells this season

8 M is too cheap especially with his current performance

I will go for 12M minimum if he goes for Tottenham. They know now his talent and what he can add to their strength.

This should put the potential £8million price tag into perspective:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2107582/Arsenal-ponder-Fiorentina-bid-Marouane-Chamakh.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... amakh.html</a>

We need to start demanding top dollar for our players by making a stand, ala Tevez. See, last summer we received offers well in excess of £10million for Adebayor from Zenit and PSG, both of which he turned down. However, if we had given him the hardline Tevez treatment, he might have reconsidered his refusal to leave, and this is a path we should take in summer. Set a proper price and demand it or he rots. Do his wages even count against FFP because of when he signed?

Even Caceido was sold for more than 8 Million to the Russian Club.

Just weeks after they signed him from us for around £800,000!

Not a good example, to be honest...
