Plenty of fans call him a twat so yeah, I suppose it does.

True but i bet the one's that think Ade is a twat are probably the same one's that hail Balo as a God.

The fickle double standards of a football fan strikes again........

To be honest, if that surprises you then I am shocked.

Be like me, rise above it, stroke your chin and know you're better than that. ;-)

SWP......I wouldn't dream of putting you in that fickle football fan bracket, your far too intelligent for that. ;-)

….and I guess that posters who make assumptions about a large number of people are not very bright. See, it’s easy to attach a label to someone / group of people.

What’s wrong with being ’fickle’? How should we behave when supporting a club?

Loyal, supportive... just to think of a few

I expected a better reply than that.

Does Balo fall into this equation?

What a bizarre thing to say, those that think Ade is a twat do so because they think Ade is a twat, those that think Balo is a god obviously don't think Balo is a twat.

You don't think he ever acted like a twat then?

Your opinion only.

Depends on what you consider to be 'twatty' so to speak.

Ade had one full season at City (09/10). His goal scoring record was pretty good for a guy who'd been to the ACON and been through the trauma he went through there, and had two ridiculous 3 game bans.

He came back for pre season last season and became persona non grata with Mancini. I guess this is where the fiction about him being a 'twat' comes from. Suddenly he was lazy, had a bad attitude, etc. I'm sure there's an element of truth in it, in the sense that he probably gave up giving a shit once it became clear that Jo had moved ahead of him in the pecking order and he realized that Mancini wasn't going to give him a chance.

Don't get me wrong. Mancini should have 100% control over team affairs, so I've got no gripe with him as a manager saying "I don't fancy that player" and moving them on. However the revisionist way in which any player who Mancini decides to sell suddenly becomes a "twat" with a "bad attitude" is more than a bit sad and sums up the fickle nature of some football supporters.
Finally. some common sense!

Merci!

At least there's one person who agrees with me...!

From what I heard (that led to the persona non grata), Ade flew into the dressing room shouting and balling after he was used as a last minute sub (no doubt to waste time and allow a player a standing ovation, Tevez I believe) demanding that he never be used in that way again. A row ensued with Mancini furious that he had been "spoken" to like that etc etc.

Ade never apologised and Mancini holds a grudge when his authority is questioned in front of the squad (as all great managers do). From what I hear, the majority of the players felt Ade was out of order.

I heard that at the time. As I said in my post, once it became clear that Ade wasn't going to be given a chance, he probably did stop giving a shit.

My point stands though...completely revisionist to start calling Ade a twat just because the manager doesn't fancy him.

Actually, 2 different stories have been mixed up. 1. was about a row with Mancini over claiming Ade was injured and hence why he isn't playing. The other is Ade (after he left City) talking about how disrespected he felt being sent in with one minute to go. Normally this is when coaches send in youth players to get a feel of the game. Not the demoted ex starter who is disappointed he has been overlooked. Simply, Ade said if Mancini doesn't want him, he should say so. He doesn't need to treat him like a child.

And frankly, I agree with him. There is no tactical advantage to sending in a striker in a game you are trying to kill off. Even the commentators thought it was a dick move by Mancini.

Those 2 stories are separate. I personally don't get it with fans turning on players their coach doesn't want anymore.

It happens sometimes, a coach decides a player is not in his plans. This doesn't make said player a twat. Just that he is unwanted. It is a painful and humiliating scenario when your coach doesn't want you anymore.

I mean lets be frank here, Tevez has been the king twat! Even though City fans would lie to themselves and pretend it is Kia doing all the manipulating. In reality, it is just Tevez being a twat. Milner has publicly acted like a twat. Adam Johnson has publicly acted like a Twat. Balotelli is a continuous twaterian. Yaya has been twatish in the past. Ade actually hasn't (outside of rumors of him not putting his head down- siomething often made up by the fans.)

Yet all of the above are not considered twats coz the Manager wants them. But Ade is a Twat?

Please!
