Adebayor to Spurs

Spurs need a forward. They are desperate for one.

They need Adebayor alot more than we need to save £8 million a year in wages.

We also need to save face and maintain a position of strength in player transfers alot more than saving the wages of Tevez, SWP, Nedum, Bellamy, RSC, Bridge and Adebayor.

Common sense dictates we would not loan him to Spurs at all.

Would cause alot more damage and cost us more money in regards to all the other deals we have to do than the £3 or £4 million in wages it would save.

I can tell if we sell him permanently , he will end up scoring his first goal against us on the 27th , that is the inevitable , he won't score against the rags but then we come knocking and he hits 2 . Adebayor has been written off by a lot of people , but he is a very good striker , in his first season he got 14 goals and I am convinced had he been played last year he could have got more . He got 5 goals last year and started around 5 games . If spurs get him , it will be a good buy , but we have (in my opinion) 4 of the best strikers in europe at the moment so it makes no difference to our plans. All adebayor will do if he is still here is cause trouble and poison the dressing room , so he has to go , I would have preferred him to go anywhere else but spurs though.

Totally agree. If Adebayor does join Spurs I_Come_In_Peace, let me manage your expectations a little. He'll be great for the first few games, energetic, skillful, up for it and will look like the player he could be - after that he will regress quite alarmingly to lazy, sloppy, inconsistent and with a bad attitude ... then you'll see the player he actually is. Any points Adebayor helps them to get are points against us... bad deal IMHO.
If spuds got Champs league above us then thats a possible 30 mill we lose out on..keeping him here for three years on the bench costs us 18 mill or there abouts...
And if we pay half his wages £85 grand a week x 38 weeks is £3.5 mill.. so you think us paying spuds £3.5 mill and losing a player to them in the process with the chance of losing CL..

Anyway, his contract isn't included in the FFPR due to when it was signed, apparently.
