Swayne is such a horrible ****
Is that who people vote for?
Swayne is such a horrible ****
They did. They made it worse. They enabled council house tenants to buy houses at a discount then sell them at a profit to private landlords who now rent them at higher rents to a new generation who will not be able to afford their own home or have the right to buy what used to be a council house.
Is that who people vote for?
I agree but it doesn’t come across well.
There is absolutely no way we could have stayed. We had no say in the peace agreement. The US told the Taliban we would all be out. If we had renaged we would have been slaughtered, both as an army and politically. The question is, did we have to withdraw or could we have stayed as a NATO force without the USA?
By the looks of it we didn’t even discuss it with our partners so took the easy route out.

What choice did we have ? Answer None.I think that is the case and the subject of some of the criticism aimed at Johnson and Rabb by backbench Tories. Biden ignored a plan to maintain low level of US and other forces in Afghanistan and decided to pull out completely. We just fell in line. Totally spineless.
Oh no. Humans inhabiting Earth. This country have ‘coped’ with thousands of immigrants for years. Thanks for this. I just watched it all. It was absolutely fascinating. I already knew quite a lot of what was covered but was still shocked by how corrupt, deceitful and violent the Afghan country can be.
The interview with the British soldier near the end about being used by Afghans to fight their internal squabbles on their behalf was especially galling. Every other Afghan lied to them about the others being Taliban who they subsequently attacked. The British fighting everybody, thinking they were all Taliban. The Afghans fighting each other knowing who was who.
The British have been conned by these barbarians since 1839. The Russians and Americans have been ripped off too since the 1950s. And next we have to cope with thousands of immigrants.
Well Tory sheep do!Is that who people vote for?
Always choice in life. I wonder how carefully the decision was debated and by whom? What choice did we have ? Answer None.
Top post.Oh no. Humans inhabiting Earth. This country have ‘coped’ with thousands of immigrants for years.
And thank fuck, my Iranian doctor is good at his job, my Syrian dentist has helped me keep my teeth healthy, my Iranian lecturer at university helped me to where I am today and a Syrian group of children I taught at one of my old schools showed me more determination, love, gratitude and appreciation from children than I’ve seen before or since in my career.
There are real people behind these numbers people are banding around on this thread who will add great value to this country, and I hope they open some minds of the backward, racist, outdated, insular minds that inhabit parts of this island.
You don’t win a war, you have to instigate change, which takes time. Until a few days ago, Afghanistan had a generation of people who had taken on western values but was limited to certain areas. it would have taken much longer to bring in the tribes and lead them away from the Taliban rule. We weren’t prepared to enter into another generation, that, IMO, is the mistake.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-17165410
It has, and always will be, a fuedal state. The tribes fight for whoever pays the most and they are very, very good it. War is a way of life in Afghanistan and it has been for centuries.
The Russians found out not long ago, like all invading armies before them, and now NATO are finding it out too - there is just no way to win a war in Afghanistan.
Such a tragic waste of life. It's time all the troops were pulled out.
IranLooks like the USA are ready for another bombing spree in the middle east.
They got their B52s over there, why?
The got a load of hercules, refuelling boeings, there is a lot of movement over Afghanistan at the minute.
Yes they are moving people out of there but I reckon its going to end in another country in the middle east getting flattened.
You've missed the point. Refugees might have been a better description. The government hadn't planned for this. May be it should have, but it didn't. We will have to cope with it.Oh no. Humans inhabiting Earth. This country have ‘coped’ with thousands of immigrants for years.

You are right if you accept we are a puppet. We, and many others have a real say. Maybe Brexit had an affect but surly we could have had a chat with our European partners? There is absolutely no way we could have stayed. We had no say in the peace agreement. The US told the Taliban we would all be out. If we had renaged we would have been slaughtered, both as an army and politically.
As I said we are just a US puppet.
And what happened there?Afghanistan had a generation of people with western values in the 1950s.
Don’t know the bloke myself but he does have Johnson on toast. This is the Labour Party Boss, which you don’t seem to support, so you want the likes of Johnson to make the policies? His name was Rodney
And he called himself Kier
But everyone knew him as Keithie.
