After Mancini would we prefer Pep or Jose for City's manager

I don't have any lack of respect for him i just want to be proven wrong on my feelings towards him.

I won't deny the fact that i've always wanted Mourinho as our manager.
I have nothing against Mancini, i want him to succeed

Not bad for a 48 year old ;)

I'm not calling Mourinho, who is a class above everybody including Ferguson. I just get sick of people who believe that Mancini is an incompetent fool, yet hype Redknapp or the latest flavour of the month up like they're Gods when they are double the age and have achieved half as much.

A team that came behind Real in the league for the previous 2 years. He shipped out a lot of the 'old guard' and completely changed the way they work of the ball as well as promoting several players such as Busquets and Pedro. He doesn't get the credit he deserves imo.

Agreed, can't believe the Mou-sucking going on in here - Guardiola upped the work rate, refined the system, instigated their 'extremely high line & constant pressing' approach, put his faith in Pique, Pedro and Busquets, put Messi up front in a false nine role...

In short, he honed Barca into the best football team ever. As successful as Mou has been, he'll never compete with that.

I wouldn't say it's 'Mou-sucking' he's clearly an incredible manager.

It's awesome when people call 3 time Serie A winner, CL quarter finalist (and that was a travesty), and 4 time Coppa Italia 'a banger'. Reminding yourself that he's not exactly old either, being only 46.

What exactly are people like O'Neill and Redknapp then?

The complete bile and lack of respect shown to Mancini here is unbearable at times.

dont get wound up about it mate...it's a forum made up of differing opinions ;)

btw...respect has to be earned and mancini has done nothing to warrant that with some of our fans

Ah, but 99% on this thread are immediately opting for Mourinho - even though Pep has created the best football team in the history of the game.

And no, it's not a case of just picking 11 great players and letting them play - Real clearly have the better team on paper. The way Guardiola has shaped Barca's tactics is incredibly innovative, and there's no-one coming close to him at the minute.

To true, both are very good managers, but Mancini on paper has as good a cv as most. I for 1 will be upset if we don't make the top 4, but I fully expect us to secure a top 4 spot. If we don't then I believe we should give at least another full season, as that is what was given to stalin.

Anyone hear the 606 prematch chat last night? from 7pm <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00z69xq/5_live_Sport_08_03_2011/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... 8_03_2011/</a>
...lots of interesting chat but about at about 19mins particularly relevant.

They said Pep Guardiola was weary of Barca and would prefer 6 month contract extensions rather than the 12 month he agreed this year.

Apparently he would like to manage in the premiership. Speculation last night was linking him with the Arsenal job.

Would City fans prefer Pep or Jose? as the City manager after Mancini to take us to CL success?

I like Pep's modesty, humility, straight talking.
I repect Jose's skills and proven success but I feel he sometimes thinks he's more important than the clubs he's at!
My heart would like Pep my head maybe Jose!

No one at the moment in time - just want Bobby to succeed and prove me and others wrong - he is a decent manager and pretty much a step up over everbody we have had for as long as i can remember (although i always like Houghton)
