Aguero injures hamstring on international duty

Massive blow to lose 2 world class players but recent history would suggest we struggle more when Kompany and Toure aren't in the team as opposed to Silva and Aguero. Look at the attacking options we still have available: Toure, Nasri, De Bruyne, Sterling, Navas. Not too shabby.

Agree with this. Scoring goals has not been our problem. Porous defence and being over-run in midfield has been. If Delph is properly fit, I agree with a couple of others that starting with a midfield 3 against the Scum is an option Pellegrini should consider.

Don't give me that shit, there are countless reasons why people come here and I'm sorry if getting people who I've never met fired isn't one of my priorities.

If you can't debate like an adult, maybe you should go play in the corner for a while.

Makes me laugh when somebody gets found out on a debate they come out with the it's a forum bollocks etc etc

Losing Aguero is always a blow, as is losing Silva, and having both out at the same time is very unhelpful. However, this is why we have the squad that we do: so that we can cope with injuries to key players. I happen to rate Bony and think Nacho is a star in the making. Bony needs to score a couple of goals in quick succession and then he will hopefully start to score regularly. The difference in Aguero's finishing quality after he had scored a pen, a simple header and a deflection in short order was palpable.

I do hate international breaks though.

The BBC are loving it. A story on the site about Aguero and Silva injured injuries followed by a link to our fixtures so that fans who like players getting injured can see which games they miss. We have 'just' Wilfried Bony as a recognised striker apparently. Not a bad back up if you ask me.

If it was going to happen it could have been a lot worse fixture wise.

what? 2 crunch CL games we have to win, the most important away game of our season and home games that we need to win, and win well. We need a faultless run.

Never a good time Joe but 4 out of 5 home games up to the end of the month. Hopefully by then we'll have adjusted to it and Wilf will have found his shooting boots.

Didn't we win nine on the bounce last year without Sergio, or indeed any recognised striker? In fact, we started a poor run when Serg came back into the side IIRC.
Not worried.

better hit the ground running after the break, another big opportunity for him. Kelechi too.

At least but you can correct me if I wrong neither have a game before Bournemouth.

Not so sure if Yaya will be available Saturday week but at least in the past his powers of recovery have been reasonable.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Silva and Kun.

If what happened to Silva happened to Zabba its a safe bet he would be spot on for Bournemouth ( touch wood ).

ffs the second round of matches haven't even been played yet , I really hope for our sake many of our players are given little game time.

Sagna doesn't need another 90 minutes in a no name friendly for starters.

I actually worry about the mental state of some of our support given the nature of some posts on here at times.
