Aguero v Bournemouth steward - allegation withdrawn

Oops pressed the wrong thing. However, there are a good many sensible posts querying Dean's ability (or lack of) on this thread. Yesterdays performance was right up there with the preening peacocks of yesteryear - Clive Thomas was it - where he believed fans came to watch him. Ffs.

Just wondering if it would be possible for the FA to not give a ban in case of an erroneous sending off. Not that they would.

They should have done that for Kyle but didn't so Raz has no chance

Sergio should be applauded. Not only does he try to return the policeman's helmet, he also tried to get their attention to what appears to be excessive force bring used on a fan. And keeps his cool when being manhandled and confronted.

Think that steward will be sweating it this morning. TV footage seems to show him using questionable levels of force on a supporter already being dealt with by an officer, and he's totally fabricated a lie which could have damaged both city's and Aguero's reputations.

Imagine an apology puts this to bed though. Unless the restrained supporter has other views.
As others have said, this immortalises Sergio. Just hope City's lawyers apply some pressure on Bmouth. You can't have stewards making false accusations and then make some mealy-mouthed retraction hoping that no-one notices. In turn, Bmouth employ(ed) the guy who has now caused one of the worst days of his life (probably) and so at the very least the club needs investigating.

Interesting contrast in the back pages today.

The Mail headline - City Fury Over Aguero Claims - sub head - shock allegation of assault withdrawn by Bournemouth after police probe.

Photo shows if anything the police acting aggressively towards Sergio and he looking restrained.

The Sun - Sergio Aggro - assault probe after injury time bedlam

And a photo of Sergio head to head with the policeman frozen to make it look like he is at least equally aggressive, plus an inset still of what seems in the way it is 'accidentally' frozen to show Aguero hand in the stewards face pushing him to the floor.

The Mail story opens with City being furious and Aguero being cleared of any blame in the first five lines.

The Sun does not even mention on the back page anywhere that the allegation was removed and he was found innocent. You have to look inside the paper to see any mention of that.

You cannot get a more blatant illustration of how the media can manipulate the news by such subtle ways.

This is how the agenda works and I think City should demand an explanation out of the Sun and ban them from the ground until they get one as it is pretty obvious they have made this story appear to anyone casually glancing at the paper that Aguero and City are at fault when they clearly know the opposite.

Someone has to stop this nonsense when it gets as openly biased as this.

Typical Sun. Vile rag.

Without getting too deep the British media has a lot to answer for. Not just with football but with the stinking bigoted attitudes of many of its readership.

The sun should be banned from every football ground.
It's a disgusting pile of shit

Without reading the whole thread, do we have the steward's name and address?
Adam tesse treatment needed

Never understood the mindset off this. Whilst the steward deserves all he gets and more why involve many local firms who may already run at a small profit margin and have done nothing wrong by sending them on wild goose chases all at a financial cost to them.

The only losers in that idea is the companies sent round all in the name of banter!

It was a very small wall that could easily be hopped over plus every few yards there were gaps where the stewards stood that you could just walk through.
Presumably when sterling ran towards the crowd he naturally assumed that they would remain in the stand. He's done nothing that hundreds of other strikers haven't done, just at the wrong stadium in front of the wrong ref
