Aguero??

Apart from Hart he was the only other player trying last night. Kdb kept giving the ball away YAYA had lead boots on
Not so.

I think a lot of our defense was up for it and trying their best.

Fernandiho was shattered once the final whistle blew - on his back and clearly depressed.
==========
This game... I think we lost it in midfield.

We didn't press effectively to get the ball back.

Consequently, Kun started drifting further and further back, eventually playing near the center line.

Kun's fault?

Partially.

But much, much more the fault of the manager.

Get Yaya out. Sub in someone who can press. Get KDB central. Get 'Nacho in the game if possible, but not central because that's where KDB needs to play.

Get the team to aggressively press, get the ball, and try to score.... Didn't happen.

Sell him? Fuck right off.

The problem with Kun, in my opinion, is he's lost maybe half a yard of pace which is understandable given all the injuries he's suffered. That's clear to see, given how seldom his runs in behind have become. I can't remember a goal he's scored this season where he's broken the offside trap at speed like he did so often in 2013/14 and last season.

However, the man can still finish. He's got 28 goals in 45 appearances this season so that part of his game is still there. We just need to compensate for his diminishing pace and get him into the right positions to score. Lumping the ball up to him to compete with Pepe and Ramos in the air certainly isn't the way to do it. We need people running past him and getting up to support him. That wasn't a feature of our play in both semi-final legs and hasn't been for most of the season.

His scoring record this season (helped by penalties) has papered over the cracks somewhat this season, where I think he's been poor.

Lost a bit of pace, been less clinical in front of goal, too often tries to take on half the team by himself.

If he can regain his old form or Pep can get more out of him than fair enough, but for me this season's Aguero isn't good enough to lead the line for us.

Don't get me wrong, some other areas of his game have improved a great deal this season but the trade off isn't worth it.

Some people can't see the truth when it is staring them in the face, Zab, Captain, YaYa time is up and if Silva has continuing ankle problems him to. And if Kun is going to carry on looking totally disinterested , even he may have to go.

Wake up and smell the coffee, we are in decline and for sure the Sheik and Khaldoun will not tolerate it.

Sentiment and loyalty in football make you weak, football is a ruthless occupation and the higher you go, the more vicious it is.

Pep is the future, a fresh start. and we need it badly, we have had 2 years of going backwards.

This year apart from the first few games we have been a total bore to watch.

All these people were calling people rags, idiots etc. when they've seen early declines of Zabaleta and even Silva. I was called all kind of names for Saying Zabaleta is finished earlier this season. "You're fucking idiot, he is just back from injury, there are few years left in him, blah-blah-blah.."

So, being brave enough to say something is seriously wrong with Kun as he's not performing half to his potential and for some decent time, is definitely going to bring someone in serious shit with saint blues. Luckily, I don't give a flying fuck, I'm not on RAWK and if it turns to be like it then they won't have problems with my posts, I'll leave on my own.

BTW, I don't think Aguero is forcing a move or anything like that but I do fear and very seriously fear that he lost lot of his pace and explosivity and that it might not came ever again at levels we were all used at and that brought so much joy. If that is the case then we might see quite few games like last night as pace and explosivity were half of his game.

With the amount of shit some City fans are spouting it's easy to get confused. Last night one charming poster even called Kompany a "piece of shit". Hopefully the mods have sent him on holiday. Another claimed Vinny was a "liability" hid behind English being his second language and then said he still stands by it.

I explained to you last night why I used the word liability and that is because of number of times we stayed without a worthy sub because of his 10thminute injuries. There was no any hiding behind English as second language, it's a fact, I'm Bosnian and this is the only place I speak/write English for some time now. And just as I accepted it last night, I could accept today that there might be better word(s) for it but I rate my English good enough to stand by liability being very fair word for situation where some player costs you a sub in 5 games during season (approx. don't know the real number, might be bit less or more), some of them very important ones and one of them being the biggest game the club has ever played. One more sub last night could do a wonders for us but we couldn't have it because Kompany's fitness proved once again to be, well, liability.

Looks like he's not that bothered. Doesn't press, doesn't make the runs, fluffs his first touch, misplaces passes, then ambles around for ages. Time for a striker with less ability but more hunger ?

Could be true, I have seen him not bothered this season. Somegames where he doesnt have any impact, and tbh Kelechi would have been better playing. Last night his body language was all wrong, yeah moan that you're not getting the ball or the team are not doing what you want them to, but ffs this is a team game and if he is told to be in the penalty area that is where he should be. Maybe I missed the point or something about last night and the last ten mins where he was in midfield practically. If he does that in Pep's team he will be dropped. Maybe that will be the first spat in the dressing room... Aguerro not doing as he is told to.

But having said that he seemed to be the most frustrated last night, and I wish the rest of the team were as frsutrated as he was.

The only thing that's wrong with Aguero is that he is consistently playing within a formation that isolates him as a striker. His work rate and finishing cannot be questioned. Wait and see how he performs next year under a manger that knows how to manage.

I know what the problem is, it's the shit players that's dragging him back, honestly I would build a team around big joe, sergio kev and kelechi fuck the rest off please pep.

Sergio is 27 years old, give me a break. I understand the irreversible decline of many of our favourite players has become the topic of choice to whine about but I find it hard to believe that Kun, the most clinical striker in the history of the EPL, is a write-off at 27 years old. I would argue he hasn't event peaked yet. He's barely 3 years older than De Bruyne FFS and we treat Kevin like he's a child.

Yes, we have an aging core squad, but Aguero is far, farrrr from finished. Delivery has been terrible all season and he is watching our midfield players fall apart around him. He is incredibly frustrated and believes he has no choice but to take games onto his own shoulders, hence why he was sitting at the halfway line with 10 mins to go yesterday. This responsibility shouldnt be his and he is the last player I want to see the back of in this squad.

Simple question, how many of the world's top teams would want Sergio if he was available? - answer almost every one which tells you all you need to know. You watch him go with the injection of energy from Pep - positivity is infectious as negativity is counter productive. He'll be fine, end of thread.
