Disappointing to read Aguero seems unprepared to risk anything for City and looks mainly concerned about being fit for Argentina in the World Cup. If fit he should play for City, not hedge his bets thinking maybe if I leave if for a week or 2 it will be better for the national team. We need him now if fit, or maybe we should ask Kompany, Zabaleta, Silva and Joe Hart etc to rest so they do not injure themselves for the World Cup. Isn't Silva playing despite a slight ankle injury ?

This is probably why often supporters when naming\thinking of the clubs great players\favourite players of all time put true greats such as Colin Bell, Mike Doyle, Alan Oakes, Franny Lee, Mike Summerbee, Neil Young, Frank Swift, Bert Trautmann, Roy Paul , Sam Cowan, Roy Clarke, and the fighters like Paul Dickov, Andy Morrison, Shaun Goater etc ahead of some of the more recent and probably technically more gifted players. This is why Carlos Tevez will never really be considered a true blue hero after his antics and disrespect for the club.

We want players who will give everything for the team irrespective and not just when it suits.

Stunning post, if you actually are a City fan you should hang your head in shame, have you not watched him week in week out?

Not meaning to offend Sergio or anyone , just think he can be so key to us winning this League and if he has trained without issue this week then he should play v Southampton. If he still has a problem then obviously he should not play, but he should not be thinking about the World Cup until after Citys' last game. Once that is done then think about playing for Argentina. All players at present at the club should only have their minds on the next City game.

Players can get injuries at any time, its as much down to luck as anything. If fit play and think only of Citys' title push for now.

Every next game is the key game from now on in as we are now in the end game of the Title chase. Lose one more game and that may well be challenge over before Aguero may return.

How on earth can someone be told what to not think?

If you tell them not to think it then they will probably think it... interesting. Cue debate on the philosophy of the mind...

Anyway in answer to the post by City1974 who clearly is coming on and posting, disappearing then returning and posting again - the quotes are pre-recorded, out of date and misquoted. Sergio said he does not want to return too soon for fear of missing the rest of the league games AND world cup. Which is fair enough. The club will be thinking the same. I expect we will see Dzeko and or Negredo used against Southampton with a possible cameo from Jovetic and or Aguero and then more involvement, if all goes well, against Liverpool. We managed without Sergio in the reverse fixture, we can manage again if it means we have him for the other 6 games.

Back in squad for Southampton reports Stuart Brennan in the MEN. Won't be started but place on the bench with a view to starting him at Anfield.

Huge boost if so. Will give the whole team a lift having Sergio back.

Lets hope there's no more setbacks between now and the end of the season, for him or for anyone else

-- Thu Apr 03, 2014 8:08 am --

Back in squad for Southampton reports Stuart Brennan in the MEN. Won't be started but place on the bench with a view to starting him at Anfield.

When Kun is on the bench and is meant to be warming up, well he never stretches or sprints he just leans against the corner flag glued to the game and you can tell he is dying to be out there!!! He watches the game like a fan,he will be raring to go,to get back ,he loves playing football. Just because he's Argentinian doesn't mean he thinks like Tevez or is as egocentric. Some peoples posts on here about him are shameful short short memories

Has there been any training ground reports this week to even know if Sergio has been training fully with the rest of the squad?

There is normally pictures from first team training on the OS at some stage of the week, or on city today but haven't seen anything yet.

Maybe we will have to wait to the press conference tomorrow.

Supposedly in the squad for saturday and the quotes that worried some of us were out of date! Let's take this fucking title!
