I probably madd the right decision in turning it off in that case! We’ve just been away and the fridge/freezer was one of the only things we left running. It’s 2 years old or so and cost 3p an hour. That’ll be 5p in October, meaning £1.25 per day, £40 a month.
Peanuts on its own, but some people won’t be able to afford it.
We have one.^^ It was the Thermomix they used and cost over £1k.....

If you can buy fresh produce often and cheap enough not to use your freezer it makes total sense and will be better for you.I probably madd the right decision in turning it off in that case!
What happened is I'd see stuff reduced and buy it to put in the freezer....then I'd see other stuff reduced and do the same (and although I tend to eat healthy, a lot of this was processed food anyway). Ad infinitum.
I just shop a bit more sensibly and running this standalone freezer just for ice cubes just isn't worth it.
A pressure cooker pan will further reduce the amount of energy you use without needing to buy expensive gadgets. You get get one for 35 quid from Argos.Just buy food you can cook on the hob. Electricity is the expensive one for us, we only do hob/crock/stew pots and stuff that can cook in a pan.
Yeah, absolutely. If you can buy fresh produce often and cheap enough not to use your freezer it makes total sense and will be better for you.
I doubt people have the time to do that universally.
