Clichy incredulous that he was being instructed to play central defender. Never done it before and clearly had no clue what was required. Only one person to blame for that...

I expected us to play better than that i feel sorry for the fans that went to Amsterdam to see the defence fail yet again.A lot of players were below there best tonight Barry Kompany and Lescott were very poor tonight
Sorry, cant accept this "we need better players" excuse...
Only a few teams have better squad than we have in the world.
Napoli, Ajax, Dortmund are not these teams. (Sporting, D. Kijev etc.)
What is common in them they had a gameplan against us and they were able to use it, find our weaknesses.
They didnt beat us because Hummels is better than Kompany, Lewandowski is better than Agüero. Or because Eriksen is better than Yaya.
Cant even name the Sporting players from last year for a comparison.
Gameplan, tactics, mentality. Get these things right and you can beat a team with better squad. This is proven against City in Europe not one time but many times.
Get it wrong and you will lose to teams whose squad is inferior. Our bench cost more than Sporting or Ajax's whole squad probably.Did it stop them from beating us?
Should it stop us from beating actually teams with weaker squad? Hell no.
It is OK to lose against Real, Barca if we lose with fighting and end up second best.
But not only their squad is better their mentality, gameplan and manager is also a lot better.

For what he's done so far he's got at least 2 trophy-less seasons for me and if we're consistently picking up Premier League titles and FA Cups then I'd say I'd only really be worried about the Champions League if we haven't reached at least a quarter final within 5 years and a final within 10.
I don't really understand the fuss. I'd rather lose Champions League games than Premier League games, we've got a chance of winning the Premier League but if anyone thinks we can consistently beat the likes of Bayern, Madrid, Barca, Juventus, etc just yet then they're kidding themselves.
They only got one clean sheet so far

I don't like Mancini, but he was not in the box with these static lampposts, who watched like hypnotized while Ajax scored three ridiculous goals.
So, yes I believe he was not to blame for embarrassingly poor defending and even worst midfield - Jaya was horrible against Dortmund because he was maybe injured, but tonight he was worst of all.
Maybe, at the end Mancini have problem and is unable to prepare team for this competition, his record is really poor anyway, but that defending was still mindboggling, midfield unable to create decent chance, ... I am simply mystified.
(Of course as expected, at least one moron - Vince from LA - didn't missed a chance to insult Edin calling him donkey and conclude that all this was his fault, more-less, since he was, wrongly, given a chance to start.)

The likes of Milner, Lescott, Barry, Dzeko, Kolarov and Rodwell are not the type of players required to compete in the Champions League. I think Dzeko is the only player I've listed that could get in to Bayern Munich's team or Real Madrid's team. Its not all about the players. Who did mouriniho win his first champions league with. Look at athletico bilbau aswell, they ran rings around utd last year, they weren't full of star players, but their organisation and their ability to link up with eachother was phenomenal. We could have a team of star players and it wouldn't change an awful lot.

we won the FA cup 2 yrs ago after a 35 yr wait, the year after we won the premier league after a 44 year wait. how dare you tits come on here and demand his head and demand to refuse to go to further games....i am disgusted!
did any of you complaining tits go to rotherham, stockport...or watch us lose at bury???
