Is it inevitable that allied ground troops will be sent in soon?

With so many countrys now involved wouldnt an allied task force with a certain amount of troops from each nation soon overrun IS?

No, was tried in Iraq and Afghanistan. Doesnt work. The Taliban are gaining strength again.

Do you all know that last month in Iran a man was hung for the crime of "innovations in the religion", he had said that the story of Jonah in the Koran was symbolic not literal.

This year Saudi Arabi have beheaded 59 people for "crimes" such as sourcery, witchcraft and adultery.

Israel killed over 2000 Palestinians and injured many thousands more only a couple of months ago. The vast majority were innocent men, women and children.

Why are these countries our best friends but IS are beyond the pale?

Time for Alpha group and Lebanon tactics then? Go the extreme route like the russians. I wonder how China or Russia would react if it was one of their citizens beheaded?

So itk I think you're saying pull everyone out, supply no aid etc as the United Kingdom which is fine by me.
Bigga - wtf are you saying - bottom line would you be happy with UK as a state pulling all aid etc from the affected regions - simply yes or no will do

RIP Alan nobody deserves what you have endured and im not a religious man but will think of you and your family tonight.

What i struggle to understand is that if ISIS want an Islamic state, why the fuck are we are involved anyway. Let them have one and deal with it after its established. Less deaths all round surely.

Surely we have grown up from the days of Richard The Lionheart and his idiotic crusades. Let them live how they want, its not our problem ffs.

The more we bomb we more we radicalise......its not fucking rocket science
Did this come direct from a Neville Chamberlain speech circa 1938.

You do realise in 1938 we dint bomb anyone

it was one of our better years

so according to Rascal they are an outfit with a handful of bad eggs, a handful? it must have been a big hand that all those butchering bastards came out of, all those Iraqi police 200 of them made to dig there own holes before they climbed in. ask the pregnant mothers who had there stomachs slit only to see there live babies hit the floor and the mothers of children yes children who were beheaded, lets give them a state where they can all live in harmony, maybe they will build a big theme park for us tourists and we can all visit

When Putin first came to power he carpet bombed Chechnya and left it looking like Dresden. There were mass arrest, human rights were non existent , everything we are supposedly against. Guess what it didnt work just inspired more Islamic militancy and suicide bombings.

Well he's a bigger fuckin idiot than you then, which is no mean feat in itself.

Your the idiot hun and a foul mouthed one at that. Youve tried to refute everything I have said and failed, so resort to insults, grow up please.
Make your mind up you prick, first off you come steaming in with a hyperbole grenade. Then in the next breath you fall over yourself by saying you're just putting it out there and now in your third incarnation you've become a jihad apologist. Prick.

These people have to be stopped by whatever means possible

They are murdering scum, life to them means nothing, they are the antithesis of all that decent people believe in

And if they get stronger and stronger and end up in control of ME oil, the west is fucked, completely fucked

My utter and complete sympathies to the family of Mr Henning.

You cannot defeat religious inspired ideology of Holy War with Military means, it aint happening.

If it were possible then Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Egypt, Libya etc etc would not be in the state they are.

Tell me is the Middle East better and more stable now than before Blair and Bush started their invasions? Hosni Mubarak warned Bush before the Iraq war,do not invade because you will open the gates of hell. Pretty accurate imo. The Middle East is a basket case, its cost us a fortune in money and lives. Death for Jihadists is what they seek, they want either victory or to be a matyr a shaheed. They are not working class boys enlisting in the Army, for a career.

I disagree, you may be right about not defeating it in terms of destroying a belief, you can however certainly degrade the potential to do harm, ISIL is a monster that has gotten out of control, it is also naive to think that the vast majority of it's so called members are actually hard core jihadists, the majority in Iraq appear to be made up of disaffected ex Baath party members and ex Iraqi militery personnel who were dismissed by the previous regime, in Syria it's slightly different, they have been on a roll since getting their hands on a good proportion of the Iraqi armies hardware it won't last forever and the arms that are flooding into Kurdistan will soon see large parts of Northern Iraq liberated, they will be squeezed into teh middle of Iraq in a few month

And there speaks the Voice of Reason... Although I don't always agree with Ducado
