Alan Sugar

Could you be a little bit more explicit, and actually say something, instead of just spluttering in self righteous indignation in an attempt to demonstrate your liberal credentials.

Ffs.
Maybe you should take your own advice and say something about the thread topic instead of wading in with insults.
?

Ah! I'm skewered. Did people watch it?

Watch what? Unless someone deliberately brought along some sheeting which perfectly fitted camera perspective, and also things like half a handbag on the offchance that a steward would buy one, you'd struggle to find anyone who thought it was genuine.

He thinks that the photograph may actually be photoshopped, and so by extension believes that the Senegal national football team actually took a tray of sunglasses onto a pitch before a match for the official photos in order to make a satirical joke. Wow, and incredible. Now was that explanation really necessary? I am not being self righteous. That he thinks that is staggering.

The accusation, m'lud, is that Sugar is racist.

Prosecution witness MR ONE BALL: Sugar made a racist joke using a photoshopped picture.
Defence Counsel: How do you know it was fake?
O.B. I just assumed. Stands to reason.
Defence. Anything more than just your supposition?
O.B. er... no.
Defence. Did Sugar fake it?
O.B. er...dunno.
Defence. Did Sugar know or believe it to be fake?
O.B. er, dunno.
Defence. And do you think it is reasonable to lay the extremely grave accusation of racism on the basis of such flimsy assumptions, not to mention ignorance?
O.B. er er er
Case dissmissed.

I call BS!

You're no lawyer, you're Rudy Guilliani and I claim my £5!!

I think they may have to stifle laughter and ask for the question to be repeated, out of shock!
Yeah I think most people in the courtroom would start wondering if they'd walked in on some kind of terrible prank show if that's how the conversation went

Er its called a joke . I have conceded, 'skewered' was the clue. Also l added an edit telling the judge we would accept a fine, but you were too quick

Well i was, but retired many years ago.
£5 in the post.

You are missing my point. What i believe is not relevant. But accusations of racism are too easily made, even if the guy on the end of it is a twat. Nobody for the prosecution of Sugar has acknowledged this

Are you seriously that dumb?

Alan Sugar is of an age where all this crap he spouted was 'alright to say'.

He, also, probably, didn't count on his casual/ overt racist 1970's 'joke' being seriously out-of-date.

I wouldn't class him as racist, but his 'casual' throw away 'humour' was and is of it's time.

It doesn't belong.

Wonder how Bernard mannings career would fare these days if he were still alive?

On the flipside I also hate when white people get offended on behalf of another race.

This was perhaps my original point, I just didn't express it very well.

I don't think it's particularly funny, nor do I think it's particularly racist. No one is mocking death, immigration, genocide or anything like that.

What is funny is the faux-outrage in the telegraph, on social media etc from beard-wearing, man-bun preening softies.
