It’s been a slow year for albums really. Loads of great tracks this year but only a handful of good albums. One day to go - get any last minute votes in.

I’m listening to albums less and less these days. I’ve found that I’m listening more to individual tracks and making playlists around genres more than I listen to full albums by one band/artist.Agree. If I had to pick out my own personal favourite, have to say it is a struggle, nothing jumps out or competes with albums from previous years.
There's a couple of new albums from Brutus and Lost in Kiev but haven't had a chance to listen to yet so can't nominate them. One day to go - get any last minute votes in.
Funny you should say that. There's not going to be anything revolutionary in how I move this forward, purely based on the relatively low interest that this thread has had. There have been three or four posters who have been continuously engaged in this and to be fair, lots of people have nominated one or more albums.Looking forward to seeing how Rob has devised this thread moving intonthe next stage, and coming up with a conclusion.
See if we collectively end up accidentally declaring Simply Red's album of the year.... A week's ban for everyone on here!
Save this for when the voting is complete and results are announced - then people can post their personal top 10s in here as a way of finishing off the thread - that was always part of the plan.I'm going to pick out my own top 3 albums of the year. Be interesting to see how many make it into the collective list.

Same here. Whilst my favourite albums of the year are ones I would have known about anyway, there have been a good number put forward that I never would have listened to otherwise and really enjoyed. I think I would have been struggling for 10 albums I liked without these extra pointers. That was the plan. The more conventional way was, like other threads, people put forward their top 10, 5 whatever and let the self working order tally scoring produce the results. Kinda curious how it compares.
I'm intrigued by this. It narrows it down to a group selection to pick from.
Either way, the thread kept me engaged most of the year and threw up, I dare guess, 10x more new albums I gave a go than I typically would have. Some of which I ended up really liking. So for that alone, well done for running it.
