Album of the Year Thread - 2022

Thanks to everybody who has contributed to this thread.

Here are the 19 finalists in contention for the Blue Moon Album of the Year 2022.

1. Listen to the albums and send me a PM with your ordered top 10.
2. Do not post your list on the thread - the aim is to keep the voting secret until the results are announced.
3. Closing date for votes is 28th December.
4. 10 points will be awarded for your top album, 9 points for 2nd etc. and down to 1 point for your 10th placed album.
5. Results will counted and then posted on New Years Eve.
6. Afterwards, we can finish the thread by posting our personal Top 10s from the year - your Top 10 can include any album released this year, regardless of whether it has appeared on this thread or note.

Just looking back @RobMCFC , the placebo album had a hit and a bullseye, dies it nit qualify then, to kaje it a nice round 20? seeing it is my top one of the year.

I’m afraid that two votes (even one of them being a bullseye) wasn’t enough for albums from the first batch. My favourite is in exactly the same position and didn’t qualify.

Ok, didn't realise that. Favours the later nominations probably.

Have to say, I can't come up with any more than 4 to list from that, and I've listened to them all.


Edit, it isnt a reflection on rhe list so much, I'm struggling to come up with 10 from everything ive listened to this year, now that I try.

Yes it does favour later noms in a way but we can’t control how many people vote in each section. I suppose I could remove everything that has less than 3 votes, but then it becomes a very short list.

It’s worth pointing out that five more albums had a better record than one bullseye + one hit in the first section and didn’t make the cut. If you look at albums from the first batch that have two votes, we’d be adding another 15 in !!!

No I get it now, when I first posted I forgot it was done in rounds.

The second part of the post was a completely separate point, just a passing comment and not related to what made the cut or didn't
 
Thought I’d give this a bump as I dutifully work through the list, some more willingly than others but giving all a fair hearing. First impressions on some are going to count for a lot as I whittle them down
