Alcohol, hints, tips, advice etc.

As my partner is temporarily on medication which isn't compatible with alcohol, I've also ditched booze during the course of the medication in support.
I'm not a massive drinker, only drinking a maximum of six pints of low strength real ale socially once or twice a week.
However, during my two weeks beer free so far, the quality of my sleep has improved, and my ability to run and swim seems a little easier.
Although I have no intention of completely stopping drinking, I will definitely be reducing the volume of beer I'll be consuming in future.

Made a bit of an arse of myself but also proved a point, I’m partial to red wine these days, the wife decided to treat me to a bit more expensive one, I opened it up and it was really nice and i commented that you could tell it costs more as it was better. Turns out I’d actually opened up a cheaper than normal bottle, the expensive one was on a different shelf! So just goes to prove it’s all bollocks and I know nothing about red wine apart from what I think tastes nice and not.

We have a bottle of Barolo once a year, always on Christmas night. That is a wine you can see where the price comes from. The king of wines.

Had a lovely bottle in Peps restaurant a few weeks ago £36! Went online can get it for £12, think I’ll get it for Xmas day

I have a month off booze every 3/4 months, my next one November. Find it ok, just have to turn down all social invites unless have to go and then stick to 0%, it’s nice to spend more time with family especially without a hangover and get fitness back etc.

I'm happy not to drink at social events if I'm having a break from booze. Don't mind drinking soft drinks or water.
However, it does make you aware how repetitive your mates' conversations are when they've had a drink, and how slowly time passes when you are sober!
