I have always thought he was sound. Know someone who has been renovating his house. Believe me when I say he has totally the right attitude to this season.

I've always thought hes a better player than most on here give him credit for, and I have a feeling Pep will get the best out of him this season.

He was asked to do a job today and did it very well for the most part. Those pulling their faces are the same people who have made their minds up already and don't want to lose face. Bit weird really.
I doubt he's going to be playing that much when our first choices are back but it's reassuring to know there are games he can fill in and do a job.

Everyone has called for him to go, he's got his head down, trained well, and played well today, unlike a few missing on the team sheet today. Wish people would give him a break

I'm merely suggesting waiting until he has to defend against world class players before judging him but don't let me stop you getting carried away about his performance.

Haven't read the history so not in response to any original point, but how many teams in this league have genuine world class players? There's about 8 teams I'd put into a similar category as Sunderland as a bottom 8, so that's 16 games minimum he could probably do a job against if needed at CB. I don't want to see him there for long spells though, personally.

Hats off to one of my least favourites - he did well today but as others have eluded to he started last season well and after half a dozen games was shocking. I sincerely hope he maintains his levels or he will find himself moved on - something I think applies for a lot pf players under a manager like Pep.
