I don't like to slag off City players, but this statement is laughable. He is nowhere near good enough for us. Best LB in the Prem? Not even close.

Cannot defend against a good winger, has one trick going forward, a meg followed by running into the player, and can kick it dead hard. Clichy is twice the player he is.

Pretty sure Pep will shift him on.

Depends on who we are playing. Some games I'd play Clichy. Most I'd play Kolarov

Kolarov is the best left back in the Premiership at the moment. He normally creates a lot going forward, but this season we have 1 striker and no midfielders in the box with the result that Kolarov can get forward all he likes and there's no one there to pull it back too

There's defending a player and then there's just being silly.

We'll have to agree to disagree about this.......
Whilst I don't think he is as awful as some on here think he is, I wouldn't say he is the best LB in the league, not even close.
It's true he can put a good ball in and often there isn't enough options for him either but he also attempts shooting from 35 yards on a regular basis, usually resulting in goal kick (once the ball boy finally gets the ball back from the roof).
One other thing you forgot to mention was his defending... He is a defender by trade yet it's his biggest down fall. The only area of defending I would say he is any good at and probably better than Clichy is and that is defending the back post in the air, apart from that he offers nothing defensively!!

Monreal, Rose, Baines, Bertrand, Shaw, Azpiliqueta and Clichy, I would personally say are all better than Kolarov.

I'd happily see Kolarov and Sagna moved on, we can do better than both of those players and neither are home grown so take up valuable "foreign" spots in our squad. I'd keep Zabaleta though, I think he's still got something to add to the squad, he's not quite what he was 3 years ago but he's still worth a squad place. I'd use him in rotation with, or as backup to, a younger talented right back for another couple of seasons before letting him move on.

Clichy I'd only replace if the need for him to fill one of the home grown spots in the squad was no longer required. If he was "foreign" like Kolarov I'd be looking to offload him as well, but his home grown status gives him added value to us.

Also don't forget our defense mid players that go missing in action thus exposing both fullbacks. This guy puts a shift in and never goes missing.
 
I think we could improve at full back position, but I doubt we'd find better in the English game.

I'll give you Luke Shaw. Azpilcueta was another fine full back, but he' not had a good season. After that name one. Please don't give me Ryan Bertrand. I have seen his name floating around before.
 
I really hope he doesn't play in the final. Caballero is bad enough but if his name is followed by Kolorov I think there will be a mass jump off the upper tier.

Our entire defence is over exposed. Central midfield is our weakest area of the side in my opinion.
But it doesn't exonerate some of the poor decisions or performances of Kolarov. Hate to say it But Zab hasn't been great on the other side either, although his performances look more like a player struggling to find form and years catching up with them, as a pose to poor decision making and rashness.
Kolarov was missing Vs Chelsea, when he was captain!!
 
I don't know why we have to be so cruel about kolarov. Been here for everything we've won post takeover, yet you get the impression some fans really hate him.

He's ok at defending not exceptional and he's decent going forward. It's always been like that.

When we play him over Clichy we lose something defensively and when we play Clichy over him we lose something offensively.

But what can you do some players never get a fair deal from some of our fans.
 
Kamikaze Kolarov can't defend so no clue what he's still doing at the club. Really does irk me when I see him wear the captain's armband in Vinne & Yayas absence. 1st one out of the door in the summer please Pep.
 
Kolarov if anything is full blooded into pretty much anything but sometimes if the game is working out he can be unplayable for a right back. He wasn't the answer when we signed him and clichy fixed that but with them both being completely crap as of last season the only way forward is a new left back. On terrible form right now clichy as kolarov is being left for dead in attacking play
