I can't believe he's survived as long as he has. Far too many mediocre to woeful performances in terms of technique and awareness, and way too slow.

At least we should soon be approaching his 6 monthly "2 good games" that give him a reprieve for another year. With any luck they might come in the important matches we have over the next few weeks.

He's been a great servant for this club and has never really been given much credit. It's clear though that its time for him and a couple of others to move on.

We need better but I've read on here loads how poor he was against Chelsea and it's far from correct.
He was very good first half and whilst being part of the shoddiest attempts at playing offside ever, it was mainly wank goalkeeping and Demichelis which was responsible for the score line.
His time is coming to an end though and it's our own fault we've got to the point where all four full backs are aging and have seen better days.

He's very fast attacking but mysteriously slow defending. I suspect he likes attacking but can't be arsed defending.

He can only kick with one foot. And he does mainly 'kick' with it, rather than pass. I suspect that if we got a lot of free kicks & he got to take them, he would score quite a few. That is his real talent.

When he's at his absolute best, he defends ok & gets forward & can create chances. We then all go 'ah he's not as bad as we thought, in fact he's pretty good, we were wrong to slag him off' then he plays like dogshit for half a season & just basically fails to do his job. We get conned by a few decent performances, every season. There are loads of nothing players who produce occasional spells of decent form. Almost every team has them, but they don't usually play for top teams.

We've allowed ourselves to be in this situation by not replacing him in any of the 4/5 years we've had chance. I doubt Pellegrini even looks at him as a left back, more an outlet for us in an attacking sense. Unfortunately for us he doesn't do that role anywhere near as well as in the past and what's left is a player who is technically sound but not great going in either direction anymore.
Like I said, we've only ourselves to blame for being in this position.

it was good to Kolarov and Ivanovic two old war horses ,and good buddies, riding out the criticism and wearing the arm bands
Almost a gesture of rebuke to some fans chagrin in itself

Tis an awful comparison. He was a rag..kolorov is blue through and through..best left back in the Prem..give this guy a break.he needs a rest after all the games he's played and just come back from injury.

Bore off with the Kolarov hate. Dzeko's gone so this guys now the scapegoat, after he's hounded out it will be someone else my guess Bony, leave it out and get behind them for the final
