Aleksandar Kolarov

Be honest with you if he carries on being picked I may just do that after 42 years of service to my beloved club home and away every game this season alone.
My remark was aimed at a piss poor player, just an opinion ,your post was a dig at me personally for having that opinion. You're probably the type of prick that mouths off at people for not singing at games (If you attend that is) Too many wankers on here that only want their own opinion. In fact
you'll find I'm in the majority so maybe just maybe it might be you who is wrong. You never know
Ha ha, the old "bigger blue" line eh! FYI I've had a S/T since 1972 and get to as many aways as I can afford. I would never even think of telling anyone to sing. I am not a Kolarov fan boy, I just feel he gets a hugely excessive level of abuse on here and your "FUCK OFF" comment was hardly a constructive criticism was it? I'm also independent enough to form my own opinion and not be swayed if the majority disagree, they could be the ones who are wrong.

I always had soft spot for Aleks since that look he gave the cameras before the Monday showdown with the rags in 2012, I think his attitude is ok though he does look infuriatingly casual at times, seem to remember him standing up for some of our young players in the past too ? I think he's a decent fella and deserves a bit more respect after nearly 6 years at the club.
While he is frustratingly inconsistent with his positioning and decision making/final ball a lot of the time, some of the flak he's taking on this thread is way over the top.
Typically loads of people are falling into the trap of expecting a player to come straight back from an injury in top form, even when thrown into a big game against the best dribbler in the league this season. In short Pellers should never have played him Saturday ... he got roasted early and never recovered.
He's clearly not the long term answer and I agree he's not a prototypical Pep player (tho I suspect Pep may surprise plenty of us with who he fancies in the current squad) but he's a perfectly serviceable full back who has done a reasonable job for us for a prolonged period, scored and made some really big goals and generally tried his best.

This, really. Not sure why he was played vs Leicester but only Pellegrini knows. Part of this problem with him this season has been age, and Sterling. Silva feeds it to him 9 times out of 10. Sterling seems to prefer going inside and either trying to shoot or realizing he cant and passing sideways.

That being said I wouldn't mind moving him on in the summer if we could get someone better. And by better I mean, can do other things besides cross.

Some days i love him to bits, and some days i think hes a bit of a lazy twat. But thats what makes him a cult hero. He is the most frustrating and polarizing player i can remember. But having met him, he is a really nice guy.

I like Kolly. (Mrs H loves him a lot more, but I think our reasons differ).

Last week he had a nightmare - but I don't really know what people expect him to do when faced by a penalty area containing eight defenders and one 5 foot 7 attacker

The crowd reaction to any mistake he makes is also definitely not conducive to an improved performance

How many other teams in the Prem would take Kolly?

(Note to self - prepare for comedy reply from those more than happy to offer a lift)

Kolarov is one of those players that when he has a bad game, he has an absolute stinker!!
I get the impression he himself panics when he knows he is having a mare. Rather than try and compose himself and perhaps try to just take the safe option, he tries the almost impossible to redeem himself. Hence the 40 yard row Z shots.

He's put some good performances in for us over the years, but he'll never go down as great.
The best word to sum him up is FRUSTRATING.

I said a couple of months ago that he stifles our attacks and I was hounded by the same element of posters who tried hounding me about Manuel. Quite frankly Kolarov offers a threat with a Hollywood ball about one time out of ten, the other nine are dead balls which are of no use. I also feel that Sterling stands his man more when Kolarov is playing and feels the need to look for the overlap.

Ship Kolarov out and if Angelino isn't up to scratch sign Bertrand. Bertrand and Sterling have some fabulous link up play for England. Decent left back, probably scoffed at by a minority of plastics on because he's English and not deemed a galitico or FM wonder signing.

We were looking for decent players 10 years ago, we need world-class ones now. It may sound spoiled but that is the reality of where we are now.
When Kolarov is fully at it, his offensive capability just about makes up for his defensive frailty. When he's not, it's just a waste of time playing him.
I just can't get my head around Pelle's team selection on Saturday. Mystifying.

Bertrand is a high calibre player. He's gone away and learnt his trade and would be of great value to a team who demand attacking fullbacks who aren't frail at the back. I know for a fact that he has and IS on the clubs radar.
