He wouldn’t come as backup would expect him to play a lot. However this Bastoni to City is just rumour at the moment.So you're saying we buy bastoni for 60m as 4th choice CB ake's replacement?
Scouts are always looking, never stop. They have to be prepared to find replacements and when they do look there will always be rumours. Doesn’t mean it will happen. City have been interested in Bastoni for some time.

Looks like Ake wants out, so if you look at how much we paid for him, that’s the standard. We’d probably pay more for a more solid option if we’re unsure of the physical conditions of the other three. As for “benchwarmer”, you can’t call Stones, Dias or Laporte that as they are three different options that Pep picks from depending on the characteristics of the opponentOf course, but we have too many center backs who have cost huge money and two of them would be benchwarmers.
