Looks like Ake wants out, so if you look at how much we paid for him, that’s the standard. We’d probably pay more for a more solid option if we’re unsure of the physical conditions of the other three. As for “benchwarmer”, you can’t call Stones, Dias or Laporte that as they are three different options that Pep picks from depending on the characteristics of the opponent

If he wants out - find a buyer who would pay us 30/35m€. If not, sorry, he has to stay. The situation is that we cannot stay with the only 3 CB's like 3 seasons ago, because we have seen that we have had a lot of injuries. The same in terms of wingers. IMO if Haaland would be injured, we are fucked. IMO we need a winger if Sterling and Jesus would go. Don't make the same mistakes again.

We have 2 of the best potential lcbs I've ever seen in doyle & mbete and look to be letting thb fizzle out unfortunately. All 3 can cover and all 3 will play for big teams if we don't find a pathway through for them.

Liverpool has had 3 CBs in 2020/21, they've used Phillips from the academy, and it was a disaster for them. We need 4 proven CBs.

So let's put 60M£ Dias on the bench and 50M£ Stones on the bench because we need Mister Bastoni, another expensive central defender, instead of DM and natural left-back. Amazing.

We never said it was at the expense of a dm and lb. if we got 40m back in Ake it’s justified to spend it on another cb

I very much doubt any of our CBs will leave. At the end of the season they’ve all played their part and unfortunately all have had their injuries. Don’t forget we had to play 37 year old Fern in defence once too often.

If a CB leaves either it be anyone but Dias, I doubt we spent I on another CB. Mbete seems ready to make the step.

But for this thread I very much doubt we are in for a CB and specially one who is Italian.

I wouldn't call him versatile. Pep's just playing him in different positions to see what suits him best. Same with phil when phil played in lw st rw cam cm all in one season
