that I agree with, there's no reasonable reason for me as to why Hancock couldn't have announced this days ago and put severe restrictions on travel in the tier 4 areas.

I don’t overly mind making quick changes, it’s an ever evolving situation and I do have sympathy with that to an extent.

What they shouldn’t have done is put in the initial Christmas guidance in as far out as they did. Should have said all along that it was a changing situation and plan for the worst and hope for better. They made people plan for better and then gave them worse and they didn’t need to frame it that way.

All his mates have holiday homes in Cornwall and were travelling today. They'll be in the pub tomorrow, mad.

They shouldn't have been preaching one doctrine whilst knowing that things were likely to change - if at PMQ's and at the announcement just 3 days ago he knew that things were evolving and things were changing so far and so fast then that is shameful and he was just playing political games. If he didn't he needs to sack the advisors who weren't telling him.

Boris and his inept cronies haven't handled this situation at all well, thats not even a debate.....and the continual contradiction, backtracking and confusion is only exacerbating the fact.
However,i cant help but think if people had acted more responsibly, and with less selfishness, then we probably would be a lot further along the road to recovery and the clumsy interventions of this uninspiring Govt would not have been anywhere near as dramatic.

Thats exactly what they want you to think.

Boris’ plan worked. Kept everybody hanging onto a semi-normal Christmas, so much that we all went out and spent our money on presents and food. We now get Christmas Day to deliver them and if we decide to pop in for a brew then it’s our fault if one of our loved ones catches the virus.

Job done for this shit government.
