I am absolutely sick of hearing people justify their own stupidity with the “what’s the alternative?” piece of whataboutery. Radio 5 was full of daft tories spouting it to absolve themselves of their part in this national embarrassment.

The alternative is anyone who can tell the truth,
not be a self serving cock and make sensible decisions, for fucks sake.
In the short term, it should be one of their own MPs that they voted for to take over.

Surely there’s one that they think is morally responsible enough to become PM.

I dont see it that way. The vote forced by Labour tomorrow will be interesting. Many MPs dont like being forced to do unpopular things to back him. There is a good chance that vote goes through tomorrow.

I agree. I meant as a government they’re paralysed now, as far as Johnson is concerned it’s the beginning of the end and it was a great result for Labour. The more they can prolong him being in power, the better for them, as the conservatives that are still supporting Johnson are just digging a bigger hole for all of them every day he’s still there.

You’ve got to give him some credit here though.
He’s surrounded himself with the biggest load of chancers and no marks there’s ever been in government. Because they’re in the cabinet, they’re the only ones many people ever see and, given the talent pool of Rabb, Gove, Dories, Javid, Shapps etc, people assuming there’s ‘no one else’ perhaps, isn’t an unreasonable assumption!

This is a party that won the last election with a load of BS as its central policy. Every one of them either knew it and went along with it or were too stupid to understand it.

Why would you expect them to do something morally responsible.

Yes Goverment are paralysed but the HoC will actually function better when a good chunk of tory MPs start to ignore the whips. The gov will then have to put up decent policy that goes through on merit.

Just enough to get them re-elected. That’s their MO every time.

I doubt that tbh. This was and will continue to be an issue of Johnson’s character, a lot of those that voted against him today, I wouldn’t want their idea of what could be considered a decent policy either.

Its all now just about the countdown until he goes.
