I don't accept he's made of Teflon, he just has no sense of morals so will stay on much longer than anyone else would under the same circumstances. The facade of intelligence/intellectualism has now entirely disappeared as people have realised who he really is. He'll be gone fairly soon but unfortunately for the rest of us it will take a generation to repair the damage he and his band of incompetents have done to the country.

I suppose we can be partially thankful for the incompetence. If they'd anything resembling competence, just think what they could have done.

They have botched the attempt to cover it up and in doing so drawn more attention to the story lol

How can you cover up a story about something that's in a published book?

One for m'learned friend at PMQ? "Is there a superinjunction about his wanting to give his lover a senior government post?"

Yeah - well as Lord Ashcroft has written about it already that means it can only have been pulled because favours were called in - so it is fair game for PMQ's........ I am of the opinion that like Partygate this will run and run and more and more info will drip out about other unethical appointments

So Johnson can avoid answering questions about yet another issue? PMQs is a farce and should be either totally reformed or scrapped altogether.

I know this George Carlin quote relates to the USA but is true of the UK, even more so with the current government.

“Governments don't want a population capable of critical thinking, they want obedient workers, people just smart enough to run the machines and just dumb enough to passively accept their situation. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own, and control the corporations. They've long since bought, and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear.”
I ’Liked’ it but in the wrong way. It’s a sad state of affairs when we get to this stage but it was always thus. However, we are in another stratosphere with the current situation and I’m just hoping that the waking up of America happens here.

It’s a fair point. The speaker should be given the power to tell the PM to shut the fuck up when he’s bullshitting and make him answer the question, otherwise it’s all pointless because all we get from Johnson is stupid slogans, insults and irrelevant shite about Corbyn rather than ever addressing anything at all substantive.

This needs to happen. As has been said about a few governmental norms, the rules work only on the assumption of morality on behalf of the PM, so the current shit stain can ride roughshod over everything and do what he wants.
