Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

"I am the ultimate arbitrator of what gets investigated"

Says it all.

We're living in a South American banana Republic

which is correct - he has said today nothing to be seen here ( yes really ) because if its a damning report he can just overrule it and the version you or I will see will be so redacted it will read

The purpose of this investigation----
So in conclusion ------
signed

And he will say that exonerates him - beyond a joke

Jesus - former Johnson spokesman Guito Hari on SKY papers trying to equate Johnsons dodgy dealing to getting a parking ticket and the Dyson thing about getting ventilators done - neatly avoiding ( and going unchallenged ) that
a/ the loans/money/undeclared donations isn't a parking offence
b/ Dyson provided ZERO ventilators

I watched the exchange, and it was an extraordinary outburst from Johnson. He was clearly rattled by the questioning.

What is more interesting though, is analysing his answer to the last one from Starmer. While his face was going red with rage and his arms were flailing around in indignation, very little of what he said was actually true.

It was a mish mash of confusion and lies, and a perfect example of a narcissist facing the reality of people doubting him.

It was very much a 'HOW DARE YOU' kind of thing, and we've seen it before, with his crossed arms and petulant shake of the head.

Michael Gove inadvertently let slip an insight into Johnsons personality regarding the did he or didn't he say 'let the fucking bodies pile up' with the remark 'when things cooled down, we had a sober discussion, or words to that effect.

Others that have known him have said that behind the bumbling, smiling bonhomie, there is a detestable personality, and that came out in spades on Wednesday.

He is out of his depth in a job he can't handle, the lies he has spouted are catching up with him, and, well, there was a little disturbance at his home that worried neighbours thought was so serious, they called out the Police!

This is our Prime Minister.............Nothing to see here. Lets move on to the real concerns!

YouGov's latest poll shows that Boris has widened his led on Labour. Now, I know that YouGov was formed by a former Conservative campaign manager, and the results of the poll are a Daily Mail exclusive, but doesn't this just show the problems we have? He is Teflon, and most of the electorate just turn a blind eye and let him get away with whatever he wishes. His party should be in the absolute political wasteland yet are ahead in the polls and it says something very sinister about our nation that they are.

They are ahead because what is the alternative? Many people nailed themselves to the post by voting for Boris 2 years ago for Brexit and what is going to change their mind? Arguments over wallpaper?

All Labour have done in the last week is attacked Boris and called for inquiries into who paid for room furnishings and well the polls have only shown that people don't really care. They just never learn and the sole policy of attacking the Tories on their record hasn't worked for over a decade now.

The reason Labour are doing this is because they have nothing, they have nothing to say or propose. Corbyn did the same thing for years and led vote after vote of saying no but not offering alternatives until eventually they were torn apart at the last election by Brexit.

To be fair to Corbyn, the one thing that gave him so much weight was he was prepared to do things and be radical but Labour have lost that and they are now completely pointless.

Normally the Lib Dems would be the limiter on the Tories but they too are now completely pointless, mainly because they went against the majority of the country on one issue and they probably still will again.

Labour have nothing? Did you even bother reading the manifesto?

If you look at any policy poll you will see that the major concerns over the last 5-10 years have been Europe/Brexit, immigration and the economy. None of the policies on that list address any of that.

The unfortunate fact is not that many people vote to help others, they vote on their own interests and concerns. That's what led many lifelong Labour voters in 2019 to vote Tory, because Labour would only give them something resembling the very thing they voted to reject.

The reaction to that wasn't acceptance or compromise, it was and still is to call those people stupid. Is it any surprise then that a potential wallpaper fraud continues to lead the polls?

We are a polarised nation. I had no concerns whatsoever about Europe or immigration, yet for some, my family included, it was the reason for their vote leave.

It is the nation that should be up in arms and attacking Boris, not just the opposition. His party has failed on every measure apart from 'getting Brexit done'. Given that I feel that Brexit will become the worst economic and social disaster I have known, it gives them a devastatingly bad track record.

Before the latest scandal and the terrible pandemic performance, we had a steep rise in poverty, a 159% increase in homelessness, soaring violence on our streets, a doubling of the national debt, a collapse of social care, youth and mental health services and recruitment issues in health and education, yet the public are not arsed; how ridiculous is that?

Listening to some people in Brum on the radio this evening - it was 'he got Brexit done and he has done his best in a tough time'. This says it all from an ex Labour voter.

Read it again.

National investment bank for infrastructure , minimum wage of £10 for 18+, green investment. All involve "the economy", it is not something that exists outside of ordinary human life.

Just saw it on C4 News from Dudley - seriously I don't mind these people getting what they deserve but I don't want their ignorance dragging the rest of us down with them

The unfortunate fact is that people vote for the interests of Capital rather than there own interests because they are subjagated to barrage after barrage of propaganda from the capitalist owned right wing media, which is controlled by those with capital.

People vote for what Murdoch et al tells them is there interests.

Is the correct answer as they say. Why I haven't purchased or read a paper in 30 years.

Same here. When I were a lad, with that Harold MacMillan as PM, our outside toilet had a nail on the wall where the torn up newspaper was kept, so we could wipe our arses bums (sorry mum).
Nowadays, I use "proper"toilet paper for that job, as the quality and content of those papers has declined so much that I wouldn't even use them for the purpose they were originally printed.

There were also some interesting articles on those old papers, whereas with "proper"toilet paper, I can formulate my own opinions while looking at it.
