You slag the Government off because you wanted Labour in charge. No problems so posters will then discuss what might have happened had they been in charge right now.

My opinion is the exact same things and its a politics thread and its entirely relevant unless you just want an echo chamber?
What a pile of horseshit. Do you not think that most people who are criticising the government are doing so because of testing, PPE and not learning the lessons from Italy while we had the chance? Fuck all to do with wanting Labour in charge.

Corbyn was a fucking disaster and no one knows or cares how he would have handled this.

If you want to defend the government which you clearly want to do, tell us why they’ve done such a great job with PPE, testing and early planning. No one wants to talk about the irrelevance that is Corbyn.

Most wont even own their own opinions anymore when challenged.

"If a Labour government was in charge we would be slagging them off as well"

Yeah fucking right.

Work to do so will leave this to those amongst us who have all the answers to all the problems and who can say "Tory cunts" with ease.
Failing to act on the 2016 report and failure to now have enough aprons for nurses and carers are valid points no? How that translates into the govt doing a great job is mind-blowing and only serves to highlight the Tory voters lack of reason and intelligence. Boris the brave is in charge, he has made a bollocks of it, my opinion based on doctors and nurses consistently complaining about lack of PPE and the confused reaction of the lockdown rules.
Doing a great job, for fucks sake.

Will come back to this thread in 18 months time.

In the meantime enjoy your echo chamber, it is almost complete.

Incredible that we still have people trying to turn the conversation to the previous Labour leader at a time like this. For all his flaws, I fail to see how this is remotely relevant right now.

A poster asked how the electorate couldn't see through this Tory shower, replying they didn't have another option was a relevant one considering the state of the opposition. It is a perfectly reasonable reply considering the electorate had no other genuine choice.

Irony alert for the poster who has conveniently forgot that he posted the most ridiculous post on the main CV thread downplaying the pandemic in early March. Haven’t seen much evidence of taking ownership of that opinion.

Its relevant because the posters you agree with tell us that things would have been all so different under him.

Thats right had Jeremy won the GE last December we wouldn't have shortages of PPE and sadly over 20,000 people wouldn't have dies from a virus that is spreading globally and the best scientists can barely keep up with, never mind politicians and their crystal balls.

By slagging the government off you are saying your side would be doing a much better job and that opinion will be discussed.

Unless of course these threads are just for slagging the Government and individual Tories off?

Huh??

I thought Labour's main position was.. I dunno... funding the NHS???

You know, the same NHS that has been telling the Tories they have been woefully underfunded for the last 8-9 years!! And, as we already know by their own research in 2016, they were hugely under-prepared for any pandemic!!

Are you suggesting this is not a worthy time to "slag them off"?

I’ve certainly not said that, so not sure who these posters that I apparently agree with (or indeed on what) are? Maybe a Corbyn government would've responded better to the crisis, maybe they wouldn't. It doesn't really matter though as it's merely speculation. No-one actually knows, which is why I think it has no real relevance to the discussion. Just seems like a fairly transparent deflection tactic to me. I'm more interested in what is actually happening right now rather than hypothetical scenarios.

I think that we can agree that the NHS would be in a much better place to cope with this Pandemic had Labour been in charge at any point in the last ten years

No country European was “prepared” and Boris had been elected to office about two weeks when CV19 was discovered.

Did the UK run out of ventilators? No. So not sure why you’re again trying to beat them with that stick.

He’s handled it very well and no one could ask for more support with regards schemes like furloughing etc which no govt in history have tried.
And PPE? Which was highlighted as a key issue for the UK at the last pandemic test.
