This is playing out pretty much as I reckoned a couple of days ago, the only difference appears to be that Boris has left some people enough rope to hang themselves.

It is amazing how rampant the inverse virtue signalling in certain corners gets, how quickly it ramps up and spills over into hostile discourse and cliched pops at everyone else. It's also amazing how I don't trust him not to let it go much much further - or to jump on board again, if that's how it pans out. Hideous to me that's where this country is up. Sigh. My wife's best friend was a section/team leader there and witnessed it happening. A stunned silence then mayhem. It took her a while to get it out of her head.
