No no, I never said they did, I said you or at least some are arguing for them to do so.

As of today every Tesco worker is paid at least 13% above the minimum wage.

They also get a staff discount which basically makes any inflation increase on food prices irrelevant, access to shares scheme etc.

My daughter started her first job at £2.85 an hour and she worked 40 hours a week, what gave this Shylock company the right was to call it an "Apprenticeship" it was nothing of the sort, after a year her hourly rate would have gone up by a pound an hour so they got rid of her.

No no, I never said I want them to pay far above the minimum wage. My opinion is 13% above the minimum wage is not great in real term pennies. Also inflation prices always get added on so even with their discount it would effect them no? If an employee is getting 9 pound odd for working weekends and shifts and you think that is a good deal then we have a difference of opinion.

I don’t believe you can just ramp up the minimum wage excessively without repercussions I ain’t a momentum fantasist I’m just of the opinion the Tories have always been about looking after business and the Cult would go bat shit crazy. All about balance. I’m not talking about milk and honey here just a bit extra which I believe any functioning company could stretch to.

I believe Tesco could comfortably pay a tenner an hour but that doesn’t mean I would make that the minimum wage tomorrow. I just don’t accept the argument because they are paying slightly above the minimum wage they are being generous with their staff.

Apprenticeships are a tory scam. Basically take something that is good in principle and water it down untill it is meaningless but sounds good. Under tory policy there is no difference between many apprenticeships and your typical low paid dead end shit job. There are many good apprentiship schemes out there but the base line for calling something an apprenticeship is so low that the term is meanginlgless. Typical tory policy.

I had a corking YTS scheme one day a week doing business studies followed by 4 days licking envelopes and photocopying pamphlets. The second year I was left to run a insurance brokers on my own most mornings. £28.50 a week for 40 hours. Get in!!!!

He has worked his arse off for 6 months. Is having a 2 week break like most of the country and will be back at it Monday. He is a human being. One thing he is not is lazy.
