Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

meanwhile in Hartlepool there is a Baby Bank. That supplies food, nappies toys and clothes for people who are too poor to afford them. When they elect a Conservative MP this week we can stop feeling sorry for them. Its their choice.

Nappygate...

Meanwhile, Carrie is busy with other things:

It was a slogan NOT a plan - after 18 months he can't express what it means doubtless because he doesn't know himself. So in typical Johnson fashion he dodges it and gets someone to decide what it is ( and doubtless explain to him as well )

It'll be interesting to see how the great unwashed voted today. If Boris is as unpopular across the country as he seemingly is on here, the Conservative should get a hammering today. Local elections are, after all, normally an opportunity to give the sitting government a kicking. If the Conservatives emerge relatively unscathed, though, where would that leave Labour, and Starmer?

My guess is most Conservative voters couldn't give a fuck about how incompetent or morally bankrupt their leader is.

Johnson will come out of this just fine because as well as his party and canvassers he is ably assisted by the print and broadcast media - in effect he is a team playing against City and has the added advantage of the match officials, VAR, UEFA on his side too

And Labour/other voters? Will they turn out in large enough numbers to embarrass Boris?
Nope.

It annoys me why council elections have low turnouts.

I predict no major council losses for the Tories and a big win in Hartlepool. The news as the results come in over the next few days will be full of Boris, Cleverly, Rabb, Gove gloating on all media channels and their client journalists joining in.

It’ll be an extremely low turn out .. I voted on my way home from work at 9:30 when they crossed my name off I could clearly see that I was in a minority from where I live who voted.
Sad fact is people are not bothered regarding local politics, until the libraries and other services get cut their the ones on Facebook giving it the big un’.

I imagine the conservatives will do well today. Doesn’t mean that much in terms of Labour or Starmer yet though, still too much a brexit and a covid vaccine (wrongly) vote.
