Navas could be the actual key to a potential move for Sanchez.

Barca still very interested in Jesus.

Why would they sign an inferior player as his replacement?

Manchester City set to put down €30m for Barca player on order of Txiki

Manchester City have big plans to succeed in the Champions League next season, perhaps even win the competition, and to help them do that Spanish newspaper AS say that Txiki Begiristain is on a mission. The Manchester City supremo is identifying players who he feels can make a difference in Europe next season and AS reckon that one of those is Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean midfielder has impressed at the World Cup and looks a better player for his national team, being given more freedom than his has at Barcelona. The Catalan club are so centered around Lionel Messi that it can be difficult for other players to shine and Neymar has also shown at the World Cup that he's better than many who watched Barcelona last season thought.

AS say that Manchester City have €30m to put down for Sanchez which could be enough to convince Barcelona. Many clubs have been linked with a move for the Chilean, with Juventus reportedly chasing him and trying to build a deal for months. The problem for the Italian club was that they wanted to pay less than €20m and perhaps that was always unrealistic. After a few good World Cup performances the price is likely to go up rather than down.

Given that so many clubs have been linked with Sanchez it's probably best to take the AS report with a pinch of salt until there's something more concrete.
