I agree we and the Rags did offer him better terms than Barcelona the first time around, but the fact that both still lost out makes me doubt he would be keen on the English culture, even if we have a fellow Chilean at the club and the rest could offer him a lucrative deal.

Or it could be that Barca is one of those clubs that people dream of playing for, especially Spanish speakers.

If Barca want to sell, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him in England and if he does move, I just hope it's to us.

I can get why supporters will want to sign the player. I just doubt he is that keen with English football in general, and it will take a hell of lot of convincing to move to England imho.

If there is a possibility of Negredo moving to Atletico, then hopefully we'll be in for this lad.
With a Chilean manager and immense quality, spanish speaking players such as Silva, Aguero, Zabaleta etc... the prospect of him signing ought to be higher than any of Arsenal, Liverpool or the rags.
I think our chances are very good, as long as we've shown our hand.

From a playing perspective, I think Liverpool would suit him most with direct football. He will also directly take over from Suarez (second striker). But I don't think he wants the move and that Liverpool will pay his wages. Also the fact that there is a likelihood of them not having CL.

At United, he will be shunted wide. And probably won't get opportunity to play through center with Rooney, Welbeck, and RVP there.

Arsenal only have London to offer I think: I don't know if that's important enough. They have Walcott and Chamberlain wide right, Ozil at #10, and Giroud plus whoever they get at CF.

From a trophy perspective, City is his best option. We have the best squad, we an afford his wages, and we can promise him playing time through the center (assuming Sergio spends time on the treatment table (NOT)). We also have a Chilean manager, Spanish speaking players, and a style that suits is work rate and footballing ability. We may also be in for his bud Vidal if Yaya is leaving

If we can't get Sanchez, Di Maria may be sold cheap so that Madrid can buy James Rodriguez. I don't think he's on much wages either, remember reading an article saying how he's criminally underpaid compared to his teammates. If they've been forced to sell before they can buy, we could get a good deal.

I like him, he can act as a pseudo CM and can play on either wings. But he will cost more than Sanchez I think. Also with Sanchez we have an advantage that he can fill in for a striker, assuming that Negredo goes and given the injury prone nature of both Jovetic and Aguero, I'd feel more safe knowing that we have someone other than Dzeko to lead the line

Was so obvious that Di Maria would be the man that scored last night.

He was also great in Madrids season and key player in Champions league Final.

Would be amazing but frustrating signing all in one
