Alexis Sanchez

Wenger to his credit has been pretty adamant he's not being sold, it's a different stance from his usual non-committal stance. If they were to sell Sanchez now, he'd literally have to resign and we saw recently how likely that is. Really hope we've got somebody else lined up, what we have simply isn't enough and waiting a year for Sanchez isn't an option, not when we've done the business we have so far this summer

It's looks better if Wenger resigned over the sale of Sanchez rather than sack him ?

Arsenal get shit money from the CL as well because of their early exits. Something like €40m, as opposed to the €90m we got from 15/16's run to the semi's.
But then all the intangibles. Sponsorship that comes with profile. Players who will sign for the club etc

Dont think it's quite as wide as that, think you got €84M, & we got €53M that year. Likely to be much more even this past year. Next year there will obviously be a massive difference with us being in Europa.

Usmanov has no say whatsever in the running at Arsenal. If he did, i doubt Arsenal would be in the position they are in regarding contracts, & he would look to push them into being much more aggressive in the transfer market. It's why there is a power struggle.

As for Kronke forcing a sale, i'm not sure i can see why he needs to. The big amount of money on offer from TV deals help in this situation. Kronke takes his annual dividend out of Arsenal for his KSE group of £3M. That's it, that's what he takes out. So, he won't be concerned about pocketing £50M from a Sanchez sale. He puts no money into the club. He is just sitting on an asset that is increasing in value year after year. As long as Wenger continues to work under the guise of we spend what we make, then the only thing rejecting £50M will do is that it's not in the bank for a potential replacement. However, IF Arsenal can afford £50M for Lemar without selling Sanchez this summer, the likelyhood is that they will have a similar budget next summer for more signings. Ozil is more likely to sign a new deal than Sanchez. Ox isn't a guaranteed starter anyway & it looks like he might need to compete with Bellerin for a place.

On that basis, does it not make more sense to buy Lemar, sell Sanchez for 50 and use that 50 to improve your team long term, rather than take a short term view keeping a player who seemingly really doesnt want to be there.

There is no way Kronke will let a 50 mil asset run down to nothing. Fanciful thinking. Any way you dress it up, it would be 50 mil net profit for the business up in smoke. That wont be happening. Kronke is a numbers man whose priority is the bottom line (not emotion) where as Wenger is just talking with emotion spinning the usual rhetoric. Only one person wins out here and it's the man pulling the strings not the puppet. Sanchez signs a contract or Kronke will cash in. It's one or the other.

Now this could throw a spanner in the works, if and when Naymar goes to PSG, then it opens up a space down the left hand side at Barcelona. Could they and would they be in for Sanchez?. How much would they pay? Probably between 35 to 40mil. I think if Barcelona came in for him he would have big decision to make.

If Neymar and his entourage really move to Paris the money could shake up the whole market.
Neymar to PSG,
Sanchez to Barca?
Or Coutinho to Barca -> Sanchez to Liverpool? :-/
I have no idea but it could be kind of a domino effect.

So if Sanchez & Ozil both fuck off, you lose 100 mil but gain 53, by possibly making the Champs League.

Then you have to rebuild the squad possibly Sanchez goes to Utd rather than City, so another team becomes stronger competition, as we sign someone younger.

Complete madness.
