Alexis Sanchez

He's failed an awful lot of times when he's played out and out striker for us. I don't think he likes playing with his back to the defence, much prefers to pick the ball up and move forward, especially from the left.
Thats correct, why anyone thinks hed replace Aguero is beyond me, the only one in our squad that could play in Agueros position is Jesus. Sanchez would in an emergency but he'd be used were Sane played last season,

Well with our Benjamin Mendy transfer the club waited for him to tell Monaco that he wants to go to city, then Monaco signed a replacement, then we bid, so if we are respectful to Arsenal and the deal is going to get done imo something similar will play out, you will sign a replacement and then the bids go in, if not then he stays a year and leaves on a free which is madness, I know Arsenal fans think it's some kind of moral victory keeping him a year but from the outside keeping a player that wants to leave is not going to help the team and in the end has much more chance of playing out as a fiasco like this year past
.
I think we are relying on Sanchez being his brilliant best if he stays. Im sure he will be, when hes on the pitch I dont think he cares who he is playing for, he just wants to win.
I dont think we can sign a replacement while we are out of CL, which is another good reason to take the risk and keep him, if we are in CL next summer then our options are much better.

What games did he fail in when played as an out and out striker?
I can't remember the exact games, I've seen so many, but fans were crying out for him to be played as striker and when he did, he didn't really do much. And he'd naturally gravitate out to his more natural position leaving nothing upfront. We were just passing into nowhere.

But to an outsider it would seem Sanchez rarely fails. There can't be "many" games where he failed.

In fact when Arsenal fail he is still more than likely your best player. It's why his attitude is seen as being so good as he wants to win and is disappointed when other players aren't or don't seem to be doing as much as him.

I think the phrase 'being held against his will' is a bit over the top. It's not like he's in chains. He's probably already been told that he can go overseas if a suitable bid comes in, but the club do not want to strengthen a rival. It's not really keeping him a prisoner is it. It looks like he's accepted the decision.

If he wants to go to another club, but he's not being allowed to go to his club of choice, then he is being held against his will. The move in his eyes, has to be better than Arsenal, and if it isn't, he won't move when he can move to a club of his choice in 12 months. He has already stated that he wants to play champions league football (which is the nearest he can get to saying he wants to leave without actually stating it categorically) and at 29 who can blame him.

Arsenal at this present moment seem to be the only club to think its a good idea to keep a player who wants to leave. He could have killed the rumours stone dead by signing a new contract, he hasn't, why do you think that is?

That's been proven a fallacy, just ask Paul Pogba. (Well he was perceived as a star when he was signed!) If you offer the right cash and a vision to go with it, top players would sign.

I just cannot see any way that Arsenal will risk him walking out of the door(along with 7 others) when they can sell for 50million now - everything in their recent history suggests that they will sell
