I think the phrase 'being held against his will' is a bit over the top. It's not like he's in chains. He's probably already been told that he can go overseas if a suitable bid comes in, but the club do not want to strengthen a rival. It's not really keeping him a prisoner is it. It looks like he's accepted the decision.

He wants to leave, he said so himself, but he also said its up to Arsenal and it seems Arsenal have said no.
In the meantime I dont think anyone has bid for him, so where will he go if no one wants to bid.

Not all bids are made public. But that said I don't think we have bid. But no doubt our interest has been registered.

As i said before he needs to force the issue at his end before we bid,we get stuff sorted before we bid for anyone, negoiation 101

Nobody has bid, so nobody wants him, that'll be right.

Sanchez is more of a hybrid player he certainly isnt a striker. Sanchez will play instead of Sane or Sterling, Aguero doesnt come into it, and Aguero is probably our only centre forward, Jesus can play there but is just as happy playing wide in a three.
He's failed an awful lot of times when he's played out and out striker for us. I don't think he likes playing with his back to the defence, much prefers to pick the ball up and move forward, especially from the left.

Well with our Benjamin Mendy transfer the club waited for him to tell Monaco that he wants to go to city, then Monaco signed a replacement, then we bid, so if we are respectful to Arsenal and the deal is going to get done imo something similar will play out, you will sign a replacement and then the bids go in, if not then he stays a year and leaves on a free which is madness, I know Arsenal fans think it's some kind of moral victory keeping him a year but from the outside keeping a player that wants to leave is not going to help the team and in the end has much more chance of playing out as a fiasco like this year past

Pep appears to want Alexis to put in a formal written transfer request. Then we would formally bid. All parties concerned (plus the world and his little brother) know that we'd slap down £50 mill just like that. Problem is, Alexis would lose a lot of money by doing that, would he not?

You never know what's going to happen over a season. It's a gamble, but one Arsenal obviously think it's worth taking.
