So to sum up City made the error of assuming Arsenal knew what they were doing and had the Lemar deal all teed up and ready to go having got everyone's agreement beforehand just as City had done with Sanchez.

Unfortunely Arsenal seemed to be devoid of competence and have the business sense of a cocker spaniel.

What I don't really understand is...if Sanchez was our number one target, then why we did we leave it until two days to go of the window? We'd have signed him easily and given Arsenal plenty of time to negotiate a replacement. Unless there's a valid reason ie reduced fee by taking a chance at the end of the window?

Why would he sell. It's a cash cow - I'm guessing he milks his US sports franchises in the same way.
