Alexis Sanchez

On the plus side of this deal, if it is a 4.5 deal as suggested they will be paying him this ridiculous wage when he is virtually 34 years old.

Another positive is that to play him i would suggest Martial and Rashford are going to be the ones to suffer,

Who is going to play on the right wing?
They have Martial, Rashford, Young and now Sanchez all vying foe the left wing slot and no fucker on the right:)

He has a good track record for letting good potential slip through his fingers. KDB, Salah

For me I wish he had come to City I hope them signing him isnt an RVP signing in as much it kick starts another title for Maureen. Good luck to him and well done Manure for once again showing us how to inflate a very inflated transfer market. I am sure your chequebook club and chequebook manager together with your shirt selling plastic fans from around the globe deserve one another.

A few years back, remember City getting slated(again) in the media when we bought (if I remember right) De Jong, who was near the end of his contract,Can't recall the exact amount we paid, but recall the media hammered us.Here we are again but the difference in the way its reported.United doing the right thing.(My Arse).

And here's what really makes me question how much more I will continue to love the game.

Most agents are now asking for uplifts in contracts commensurate with whether the TV deal goes up.

Not down. Just up.

The money involved in this Sanchez -> United deal is absolutely revolting. 180 million and rising for a player with six months left on his contract...

I was out with a Liverpool supporting mate the other week, just after they'd signed VVD. This lad had always had a go at me over City's spending and I've never risen to the bait
That evening he was quite embarrassed that Liverpool had spent £75m on a centre half, especially after all the shit he'd given me.
I just said to him that he shouldn't be bothered about transfer fees, so long as ticket prices don't go up. I pay £770 in EL1 and so long as it doesn't rise to over £800 (my ceiling) then I don't give a toss and will leave the worry of finances to club officials
It's the only way to look at football now. Have a limit on what you pay to watch and as best you can, ignore players wages, transfer and agent fees

One problem, we are prepared to pay more than anybody else in the world for the right players.

There's only so far even United can go to deploy a possible strategy of deliberately inflating the market.

This is still only Alexis Sanchez we are talking about here at the end of the day.

It's a good theory but Mourinho's comments challenging the board recently are probably not far from the truth?

He needs even more cash to buy off the top shelf because he can't compete with what Pep is building at half the cost.

The problem is, we already know spending huge amounts still doesn't guarantee absolute success.
Whether it is a long term strategy or not I don't know, but it is working to the extent that it prevents us from buying players we would have liked. We would have had a much better team now if we had bought VVD and Sanchez. Now we need to get the same quality in to our team for less money or accept we are worse off than we could have been. To me it looks like we are, at least temporarily, being outspent by the kartell teams.
