Alexis Sanchez

I do not know how reliable the International Business Times is but they have just reported that Arsenal want 10 million plus Mikey Tarian as basically they are the same age but Mikey is not as good. Seems fair to me and it means that despite what you read, this has someway to go yet.

You are very keen we see Utd in a positive light, young blue.
I just don't see United in a positive light, they play dull defensive football and they are paying massive inflationary wages for him that will drive up players' wages world wide. I dislike them more than any other club.

However Sanchez has not suddenly become an old, incompetent player because he's not joined us. I want us City fans to be honest and truthful about football, not deluded like many of their fans. To me it's a blow he's joined them and I don't mind admitting it. He wanted us, Pep wanted him.

I believe we could have got him without the massive wages if we had gone for him this window, instead of trying to put him off until summer.

I assume it's because we have limited squad places and consider other positions more important, but I am still disappointed not getting him.

I hope so, but it feels like for the very best players we miss out or baulk at the fees.

What wil we need to spend in summer to maintain the gap, possibly replace a legendary goalscorer in Kun and who of that level is available? I don't think Dybala or Aubameyang are that great. Lewandowski maybe? Getting on though. Kane or Mbappe ( another one missed if PSG honour that buyout clause) were pretty much all there is.

I would prefer us to buy a quality youngster for less money and make them world class. As we have with Jesus, Sane, Stones etc.

Buying the finished article in Kane, Hazard et al is a huge risk financially.

Blue tinted specs on this.

Utd are a mish mash of a team, but they have shit loads of money and they can afford it.

No, they can afford it at the expence of someone else.

Whatever money they have, Mourinho was going to spend it. They have chosen to spend double the value on a 29 year old player who has not been in consistently top form for a year. That money, was going somewhere else, in the summer. Maybe even as a crazy bid on the younger bloke we will sign.

They have the choice, to build a team, like Pep is doing. They are instead, grabbing everything they can & hoping to fit it together.

This is a desperate attempt to cling onto relevance, because they are scared of being left behind, not part of a team building plan.

It's a fucking shit way of operating & you should not let them off the hook for it.

One problem, we are prepared to pay more than anybody else in the world for the right players.

There's only so far even United can go to deploy a possible strategy of deliberately inflating the market.

This is still only Alexis Sanchez we are talking about here at the end of the day.

It's a good theory but Mourinho's comments challenging the board recently are probably not far from the truth?

He needs even more cash to buy off the top shelf because he can't compete with what Pep is building at half the cost.

The problem is, we already know spending huge amounts still doesn't guarantee absolute success.

It didn't with us either and we made some mistakes along the way on and off the field which is all part of the learning process.

Our owners are younger , hungrier and more adept to changing with the landscape but still respect the passage of time.

Manure's owners are sons of the old school that didn't respect what it means to lose with grace so you enjoy the wins more.

The thing about Mou is he is a broken record and a bitter man and as he said a lonely man thinking whether his record and legacy is of any note now in the management cycle.

At Manure he will always be compared to Fergie and was a non discript before he joined hence his wish to wage petty wars with other managers than are meaningless and reinforces the public perception of him as a bitter and twisted individual almost psychopathic like.

Sometimes the tune can be melodic and consistent but in the end you want a new record.

Is there anyone out there who is that good though? And we already have lots of inconsistent potential, if Kun goes or gets injured or loses form we actually need to mix this potential with a proven regular goalscorer.

I don't think Kane or Hazard would be a risk as they're proven over seasons in this league. It's more of a risk bringing in a player from abroad for big money though.

If you say massive one more fuckin time...

On the plus side of this deal, if it is a 4.5 deal as suggested they will be paying him this ridiculous wage when he is virtually 34 years old.

Another positive is that to play him i would suggest Martial and Rashford are going to be the ones to suffer,

Who is going to play on the right wing?
They have Martial, Rashford, Young and now Sanchez all vying foe the left wing slot and no fucker on the right:)
