As much as I want Alexis at City, the thought of them keeping him against his will, and then failing to qualify for the CL again and losing him for free, getting an ffp fine, losing Ozil for free, well it's a mouth watering prospect
 
It's hard to read the situation, don't know who to believe, is he in it for £££ (400k/wk) or does he want to win big honors and play for less, very conflicting reports out there (really can see him running down his contract for the big signing on fee to the club of his choice in 6 months)

That depends on whether Sanchez really wants to spend a year of his shortening career (28 coming up 29yo) assisting arsenal in their CL ambitions, which may or may not be achieved next season, or wants to realise his own ambition and play immediately for a club with serious aims at the very top prizes.
If the alleged wage demand is part of a campaign to discredit him then that is good news for us , if it's real then it looks like him saying that he is not renewing at arsenal whatever.

And I wasn't trying to discredit anyone. I was merely using the barca 3 to illustrate my point.

Something can't be phenomenal if you can easily replicate it. Suarez, Neymar and Messi is phenomenal. Lacazette, Sanchez and Ozil is decent, enough to finish top if they all stay fit. They lack any quality depth beyond that as well. I think Arsenal have to spend well beyond their means to compete next year, they'll need a summer similar to the one we seem to be heading for £200m+.

Agreed, but I think you're missing a couple of tiers between phenomenal (Suaraez, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Neuer) and near-phenomenal (Aguero, Lewandowski), almost-phenomenal (Sanchez) then the decent on their day (Ozil etc)

Sanchez is title-winning material. He'd be our new Tevez. And Carlos, for all his ills, was fucking mustard. So is this guy.

Nope. City first, everything else is subsidiary. I could not give two flying fucks what happens to other teams, provided we're doing the business. Let's start winning stuff again before we get our teeth into other teams.
