The best outcome commercially and footballing wise from an Arsenal point of view is to keep him this season and let him go next summer.That way we would get his last peak year playing for us and wont have to stump up 400k a week for it.

Realistically how many more shots has he at league titles and champions league? He can't afford to waste (no offence) a year in his late 20s at a club not competing in one and no recent history in the other.

No offence but if its about titles and CL hed already be at Bayern Munich, I think he's looking for the best deal financially, the last big contract of his career, if he goes on a free next summer he can get a contract + signing on fee which adds up to 400k a week so it works well for both him and Arsenal.

There is no reason for Arsenal to offer him 400k a week, it makes no sense whatsoever.
Keep him on 130k a week, save 15m on wages alone next season, let him go for free next summer when hes 29 and no longer worth 400k.

He doesn't want 400 grand a week from anyone but arsenal. City are not gonna pay him that! He will quite happily sit on 300 or even 275 if he is at a club that can challenge.

I think the £400,000 a week talk is just aimed at you guys offering him a new contract to be honest and he knows you wont pay it
