We don't really have those options though or rather we have them but never use them.

At the moment Nolito plays almost never and Navas is at right back.

In fact, Nolito has played 37 minutes in our last 13 league games, and Navas 106 minutes in the same time (excluding the time at right back).

And that's with Jesus out of contention.

So who's going to be the 2 or 3 who never play out of your 6 next year?

Unless you think Sanchez fancies a change of position, and Aguero will be happy sitting on the bench 99% of the time, drawing comparisons is, at best, disingenuous.

Nacho hardly plays as well

If we have stronger options - and I hope, however it pans out, we have - Pep will rotate more. We should be trying to build a squad that can make history and do the quadruple.

Rotate as much as he likes, 6 players who all expect to start the majority of games doesn't fit into 3 positions. At 50 games a season they'd get about 25 starts each, not even close to what they want.

This sort of thinking must be rooted in football manager or FIFA because it's certainly not rooted in reality.

In fact, name me another team in the world who manages a similar situation and I'll agree i'm wrong. Closest you can get is probably Bayern, who have 4 wingers for 2 positions, mitigated by the fact that 2 of them are injured at least 60% of the time (Robben has missed 70 games in the last 3 seasons, Ribery 76) and one is 20 years old so accepts being on the bench for the very short period in a season when both Ribery and Robben are fit.

BVB are the closest - around 10 players for 5 midfield positions, at least 3 of those are teenagers though, another few are u23, Reus is extremely injury prone and Bender spends as much time playing in defence now as he does in midfield - essentially it works because so many of them have plenty to prove.

We need big personality upfront, and Sanchez can do that job.

Hopefully we can keep Aguero as well.

It's nowt to do with computer games and I've already acknowledged the difficulties involved in managing an extremely strong squad but we need the strongest squad we can get and it will have some young guys in it who may be persuaded that a bit of patience won't do them any harm; in fact, it might well benefit them in the long run. I'm not for one moment expecting us to have Aguero, Sanchez, Sane, Jesus and Sterling in the same squad but I'd love to see it and see us playing over 60 games; which we would have to do to win the quadruple. It's about aiming high.

Guardiolas sextuple winning squad in 10/11 had 2 players for the front 3 who demanded to start every game, Messi and Villa. Then they had Pedro who played most games, but had no worries about sitting on the bench.

Then Bojan, Affelay and Jeffren Suarez as back up.

His treble winning side in 08/09 had Messi, Eto'o and Henry with Bojan filling in when needed. 4 players for 3 positions with Gudjohnsen playing so little he left immediately.

Why do you think having 6 players who would all demand to start a) Is feasible, b) Is necessary or c) Would actually be beneficial? Why do you think constant rotation of 6 players would be better than 4 players actually having enough time to get into rhythm and form?

Your fantasy squad isn't necessary at all, and would more likely than not just devolve into players in bad form, sulking and asking to leave, causing a shit storm off the pitch.
