Dzeko banged in goals.

Aguero banged in goals.

Tevez banged in goals.

Balotelli was happy to be Balotelli(whatever that was).

We won the FA Cup and the prem title.

How these players felt about their roles is the job of the manager to manage them. But all 4 contributed and other than the Tevez fight, all went great.

Look around the top teams in Europe. Stacked with stars. Since that title season our depth has mainly been Scott Sinclair level.
Lets leave the disparaging of balotelli to our opponents.

He scored and assisted plenty of goals in 2012, his alleged laziness was always exaggerated by the press.

But he was the one who drove the 6-1, the one single result that signalled a seismic shift in Manchester, and he was the one who provided the assist for the last goal of the season.

Wasn't THE assist the only one he ever did in blue?

I am not sure Aguero and Alexis need be competing.
We had a pretty settled system: one striker (Aguero, Nacho as backup) with two wingers: Sterling /Sane with Navas and Nolito as backup

Seems like we simply replace Nacho Jesus (pity, Nacho is a class striker but Jesus dies seem better, and better suited fir Pep's system)

For the wingers, Nolito would be transferred and Navas the backup right back, and we have 3 world class players for 2 positions. Just think of all the matches they both played this season, working hard but not much end product, and then imagine a sharper, better player like Alexis, with a genuine goal threat.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't want Sanchez? Nacho leaving, navas leaving, nolito leaving? Yeah we have Sergio, gab, Raheem and sane but Sergio missed a bit through injury this season as did gab? Plus if there is loss of form? Injury? No brainer signing Sanchez imo

Yep, if we add Sanchez we could look at having two of those five coming off the bench depending on the rotation as opposed to the likes of Nolito and Navas. We need to start adding quality dpeth to compete on all fronts.

Agree mate. Navas and Nolito out means we need 2 new attackers to replace them. Let that be Roberts from Celtic and Alexis Sanchez. That would give us the possibility actually rotate on the wings when Sane and Sterling need a break.

I would even suggest that Sanchez could play deeper, in the Silva role possibly. His eye for a through ball is amazing.

Sanchez dragged his club as how hazard is for chelsea. Would be a good signing for us. High workrate, Pl proven, strong and fast.

He could play false 9, the Messi role, which Aguero played against WBA. I think eventually Pep wants all the attackers to be able to switch positions fluidly and be able to play the same way. I agree one of Sanchez or Mbappe would be a strong addition. Sanchez, Aguero, Jesus, Sane and Sterling would rotate up front.

Since it's highly unlikely that we would get Mbappe, if we sign Sanzhez, does that mean we would sell Aguero?

I don't think so. We currently have 4 players at the required standard that are likely to go into a front 3. That's not enough depth. 60+ games a season and Sane still young, Sterling a little inconsistent and Aguero prone to a spell out here and there you might say 5 players for 3 positions is a still a little light if there isn't a youth player or two you could call upon a handful of times.

Sanchez signing would have nothing to do with Sergio as has been mentioned. Only city going for mbappe means trying to sell Sergio.

I really hope this is what actually will happen if we buy Sanzhez. Selling Aguero just to fit Sanzhez would not make any sense at all.

Sanchez transfer has nothing to do with Kun. One of Sane/Sterlig will get benched

Benched, no. The front 3 will rotate amongst aguero, sane, sterling, Jesus, and Sanchez (assuming he signs). Hopefully Roberts will be involved too.

Once we have this level of rotation we'll see sterling and sane maintaining the highs they've reached this season more consistently. Those two, particularly sterling, have been run into the ground. Once we have rotation everyone benefits.
