Alexis Sanchez

Well if Diaz is that good, then skip the 60 million and lets slowly bring him in instead.

I dont doubt he will be a great player for us, what i will say is that he needs to be implemented in over time. The step from eds to full competitive games is massive and Diaz is small. Imo we still need an established player like Sanchez

The only thing that scares me with this strategy is what happens if there is a significant injury to either Kun or Jesus, then we are left with just one of the them and a bunch of youngsters or other people playing up top when that isn't their natural position. We saw it last year when Pep tried KDB up top, it wasn't a disaster, but he clearly isn't an out and out striker and is much more impactful in his current role.

Agree...Sanchez or someone is still needed

I agree, Jesus is potential he's not ready at the moment to lead a side to titles.
Except he already has, and is a star for Brazil.

He had a very good opening game against Brighton. Remember 2 goals disallowed. Hit the woodwork, and a very big role in the 2nd goal.

I love Gabriel as much as the next blue but to be fair the Brazilian league is nowhere near the level of the PL. And also tbf, one of those off his hand, another where Silva was offside before the ball even got to him, let alone Gabby. Neither counted and rightfully so.

As much as I agree with you, asking a player of his age to lead the line, along with Kun, across 4 fronts from August until May is a big ask of any player, regardless of age. Depth is desperately needed to lead the line. Or at least, give Kun and/or Jesus, the option to rest a game here and there. Not to mention what happens if there are injuries to either of them.

I've not seen anything in Gabriel to think that he isn't ready to play a major part in anything we do over the coming season. Why are people questioning his readiness, is it purely looking at his age and making assumptions based on that or is it something they have seen from him on the pitch in the games he has played for us?

I think he said he was a star for Brazil, not in Brazil. As in the national team and not just his league exploits

I haven't seen anything either. He's never lost a PL game in 12 games or something. A record?

I've seen some fucking funny posts tonight. Some people are doubting Jesus, despite impressing nearly every time he's been on the pitch for city. It's like people expect him to bag a hat trick every game.

It's just the way of it on here, it's the same as people 12 months ago insisting Silva wouldn't fit into Pep's system, it defies rational explanation.

I don't understand why some are thinking we can play a whole season with just Kun and Jesus as out and out goal scorers. I keep hearing that someone can fill in, but I think we should be in a position with our squad where we don't need to use a stop-gap and hope. Unless Bony is going to stay, and I highly doubt that, we need to purchase a proven goal scorer. We have lost our two back up strikers from last season, and I understand they didn't contribute too much, but that was because they either fell out with the coach, or were seen to be below the standard we require, not that they weren't needed. It is a bloody long season, and no one has a crystal ball to say both Kun and Jesus will not get an injury, so I hope we land someone prior to the window closing.

Hard to tell with Ozell though.
