Alexis Sanchez

I would say this is a case of Arsenal cutting off its nose to spite its face, but they've been without a nose, ears, lips, and eye brows for quite some time now.

BBC.

Old news.

Until either club announces something, it's still on.

Manchester City's bid to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez looks to be over.

It is understood that a conditional agreement was reached in principle between City and Arsenal for Sanchez to move to the Etihad Stadium.

The fee was £55m, plus £5m in add-ons.

But it depended on Arsenal first securing a replacement to fill the gap left by the 28-year-old.

Their target was Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and an agreement was reportedly reached between the clubs for a fee in the region of £90m.

However, it is thought that the 21-year-old France international decided against the move.

City are currently not prepared to resurrect the deal by offering a player in exchange or more money for a straight cash deal.

Barring a remarkable last-minute turn of events Sanchez, who wanted to join City to be reunited with his former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, will stay at Arsenal.

Can't wait to see Sanchez play for them next. Get more effort out of a training cone.
Yeah, I imagine he's going to be super motivated. Not that it matters. Wenger will sit there looking sour regardless, and he and their idiot fans will cry about how their poor season is our fault.

We didn't get Mbappe. Evans looks unlikely. We've moved Sancho and Bony on. Surely we can improve on our 55m bid. Looks like we don't want to be shown to be weak though after having it initially accepted. Sometimes you just got to suck it up though if you want a player.

It actually seems like Arsenal are gonna keep him. Hoping for a disgruntled Sancjez stinking the place out and throw Mustafi in there as well and Arsenal finish bottom half, will be an Arsenal Fan TV delight.
