Alexis Sanchez

Getting Sanchez would be nice (probably - though he seems to have somewhat upset Arsenal players unlike Coutinho - who also wanted a move and made it known but didn't alienate teammates). I'm a bit worried that Sanchez might cause troubles in the dressing room if he comes to our side but doesn't start as often as he wants.

So if we get him - good - if not - perhaps a Dani Alvez-like bullet dodged.

And the itk pretender of the year award goes to....

He only forgot to add he is expected at Maine Road tomorrow to sign on the dotted line....

For a three bed town house.

I thought he was filming his interview at the swamp last night?

Seems like there’s some sort of delay doesn’t there.

Reds scuppered by a Mickey?

Maybe Arsenal are that shit that he’s refusing to be part of the deal. Meaning Arsenal miss out on the bigger offer? There’s no way they’ll match the wages he’s on, so Utd would need to pay the difference.

So let me get this right...

Utd are offering £30-35M plus Mickey (worth another £35M?) plus £18m pa in wages plus £10M to the agent plus half of Mickey’s wages (another £6M pa) ..?

All for a player who’s 29, out of contract in months and has been obviously coming to City for months.

It’s almost like they’re desperate to beat us, at something/anything...

And yet, they still just might be snubbed in the end?

I love that we don’t seem to be budging. We made an offer that has already been accepted once by Sanchez so let’s just sit tight.

I don’t see how we lose big in any of the scenarios that are left.

Jose is mostly about strong defense and then attacking if safe. As such, few players are given a defensive pass in his system - Ibra seems to be forgiven his lack of defense - anyone else?

Anyhow, Sanchez to United would likely not be a great fit - I can see Sanchez getting frustrated with Jose's very conservative tactics.

At the same time, Pep does not tolerate laziness either - on offense, players need to move into space - on defense, players need to press intelligently to win the ball back quickly or if that fails move into good defensive shape.

Sanchez's personality and style of play seems to fit really well with Pep's philosophy and not nearly as well with Jose's.

Sanchez isn't a defensive slouch - but he doesn't strike me as someone content to bunker in on defense against the likes of us/Madrid/Bayern/PSG/Barca/etc.

Surely they are not paying £35 million + Micky terry ann, I thought it was £35 million or a player exchange with some cash changing hands.

Woodward doesn't seem to be the sharpest stick in the shed - so who knows?
