Alexis Sanchez

if he has in any tiny way disrepected Pep he's gone. if he turned round now and said ok i'll the original deal Pep would fuck him right off, rightly so. we seriously don't need him that badly, rags might but we don't.
And that surely is the point. For all the talk of him disrespecting Pep, it is the opposite. Sánchez realizes that we don't need him as much as we did. Probably feels let down and is listening to a very good personal offer from Utd. He doesn't want to go there hence all the dragging of feet. He wants to come to us but we don't see him as fundamental to our future.

I wanted him (well I wanted him back when Mancini did too and he was at Udine), but you can absolutely understand the club why they decided not to continue with the bidding war. United have bigger revenues and thus they can cover large wages and they seemingly don't have a strict wage structure, or at least it seems quite random. While ours will rise quite a lot too after the extensions of players like De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus.

Even the 50m talk in the summer seemed a bit silly to me, but this current deal with his wages and the agent fee is a bit ridiculous.

Everyone missed one line in the pull out piece.

City have left the door open to Sanchez.

In other words, told him if he really wants to come they will pay what they previously agreed.

They don't expect him to do though.

That is not the slant anyone is putting on this but it is to me the big one.

Odd that Sky have missed that. And also said United are the only option. No mention of Chelsea!

But that line says he wanted us, we wanted him and would pay what we agreed tomorrow.

So IF he goes elsewhere it is for the money.

Someone should be pointing that out in the media.
Why describe City as “they” rather than “we”?

Not great but think when everything settles down it's the correct derision not to go balls deep & upset everyone.

We can now close all our new deals off in the next month or so without any agent saying well he just got £400.000.

CB & LB is required to get us over the line & a good draw if we beat Basle in the Qtr final gives us some hope.

I still think our negotiations have taken another knock & we just ain't closing out these deals at the right time Summer 2016 & transfer windows b 4 that.

I hope both Liverpool & Chelsea finish ahead of those twats now & I hope that Rashford & Martial suffer.

I hope we are negotiating something in the back ground maybe a nice surprise in January or at least pre World Cup.

This thread has fucked everyone over I can't go through all that shite again.

Is it too late to get a collection box going at the Newcastle game ? I will put a tenner in the box. I would expect Newcastle fans will chip in as they hate rags as much as we do.

Might just tip the balance and keep his agent happy

£350k a week obliterates our wage structure.

Plus, £35m + Micky is arguably valued at more than the £65m we offered Arsenal in the summer.

i agree with you but tbh if the market keep going up and up 350K will be the norm in a couple of years and if we want to stay at the top and be the best we have to buy/pay good money for that this is why i say that i really hope we don t repeat the mistakes ala hazard or rvp

Well my only concern is we still need players in this window and that includes a striker, the squad could do with a couple of new faces to give them a lift and energise the squad as over the last number of weeks we have started to look a little heavy leaden(yes I know we had a lot of games over Christmas which hasn’t helped)...

Great that City refused the 350-400k pw wage demands.

All I'm wondering is, if a marquee player is now targeted, he might point to what Sanchez is earning to get for himself.

What does City do then? Are we never signing a marquee player (who'll presumably be chased by other clubs as well) again?
