Watching that Vid just makes me want to cry. I doubt you'd get 5 mins of Milner doing the kind of sublime stuff that Stevie does. Its a disgrace if this goes through and seriously gives me doubts about whether mancini knows what he's doing. Not saying Milners not good but to give Ireland away to one of our rivals is shit business.

Try and make a 1 minute montage of him last season. You could easily make a 5 minute one of what Milner has done stop being so dramatic....

fair enough but I do love me some Stephen Ireland.

Re: Ireland On HisWay

Villa will have got the short end of the stick if Stevie continues to produce what he has this last year. Ultimately both managers are taking a gamble - O'Neill that Ireland can get his shit together and Bobby that Milner can reproduce his form from last season in a new environment.

Im going to wait and see before I make any kind of judgment.

you're either clueless or you must have such a short memory.

Talking about memory....lets not forget he put in a transfer request, it's not for us to hold a players talents back, let the boy have his stage with a bigger club thats going places.

I didn't know Milner had put in a transfer request. When did this happen?

Re: Ireland On HisWay

He is so capable of becoming a legend and I think he truely loves the club.

Lots of fans wont be happy if he goes and I am one of them. This doesnt mean that I think he has performed regularly its just that I like him.

When he plays he is unstoppable. He is still young and capable of so much more.

Against Milner its a no brainer for me. Milner has performed consistently at a high standard for a few seasons now.

If Stevie had milners regular kind of form he would be up there with fabragas for me and would be worth twice what Milner is. Unfortunately he hasnt and its another city player that didnt fulfill his potential.

All that said, last time I said he could go he had the season of his life. Perhaps Bobby knows this and is using the same motivational tool......

i`ve never played footy manager, how many times have you seen the so called superman dominate the midfield or even have a good game against a top side. Last season he was awful & he had the chances. Did you watch him last season ? p.s i`m an old teenager who`s watched city for 30years .

Re: Ireland On HisWay

I think we have just got to get over all the 'Stevie Ireland grew up with this club' thoughts.

The manager clearly wants Milner in the squad and it's very likely the only way to get him is to sell a player to Villa, we may not like it for many reasons, but that's football and with our progression over the last 2 seasons it's something we'll have to get used to, because I'm sure he won't be the first.

Just remember the days when we had to sell SWP to survive and he thought he was moving to a bigger club with more potential.

As for the fee, City are probably paying 25% over the odds for all players because of our well documented wealth, again something we will have to get used to.

you mean the 'unofficial' transfer request reported in the papers and media. the same papers and media that said we'd had wrapped up deals for kaka and eto'o? i wouldn't believe too much you read in the papers. i only believe what comes from the player himself and he's come out just over a week ago and said he wants to stay and fight. never seen or heard him say he wants to leave.

You might have a point Jay...but the subtlties of Ireland being quoted regarding not being granted enough play-time whilst he's playing shit...followed directly by quotes from Mancini suggesting he sort his head out are not lost on me. If the club horse trade him then he's still Goody two shoes because suggesting your offmans if you dont get a place whilst playing shite is a touch more unseen. A Gypos trick...works well on a numb lot..but not the Arabs.
