Altercation at Terminal 2

Crazy stuff. Police Officer no doubt angry, but don't kick the guy ffs when he's on the floor and then the stamp. As far as I can tell the Police not in the wrong until that moment. When emotions run high we do stupid stuff, but the police need to rise above it.

Possibly in hindsight I think your right, I think at the airport the nearest team would be sent to speak to them if what they'd done earlier had been reported. Unfortunately this time it was 2 WPCs (if we're allowed to say that now) and a Policeman. I don't think any of them expected that sort of reaction and to be fair why would they.

I’d get that if it was just approaching a member of the public with no idea at all but they’re at least going to speak to them knowing they’d just been in an altercation, and they’ve ultimately ended up in a position where the people they were trying to arrest gained the upper hand even if just for a few seconds against police officers that have firearms. That’s at the very least a learning for them, the consequences could
have been far worse.

I don’t blame them for the reaction afterwards, I just think part of thats a consequence of things that maybe they didn’t do right beforehand and my main concern with it is the safety of the police officers themselves, particularly when they’re carrying guns.

Their reaction is nuts too, sure I read they have police officers in their family, what the hell did they think was going to happen doing what they were doing. Unless more comes out (and I can’t imagine what would), they really need the book throwing at them.

This incident really has brought out the worst in people. I moved carriage at the end of a train journey today because I was sick of listening to the loudmouth drunk woman connecting this incident to "there were no riots when that soldier was [Lee Rigby] was stabbed".

On a side note, quite amusing to see Laurence Fox still blaming the police regardless due to his own perceived treatment by them and all his followers arguing with him.

Just got to keep thinking and hoping anything that chips away at binary thinking is a good thing.

Maybe nuance might make a comeback, it was doing so well until the internet came along…

I've watched it mate thought in the circumstances the officer did well not to do more to ensure he was no longer a threat. The disappointing bit is so many bystanders not one pitched in to give the copper a lift.
In this video which carries on after the kick, it is clear the offender is not pinned down, there is at that point just him trying to control 2 or 3 males until backup arrives a few seconds later.
