Quite a few on here mentioning Evan Ferguson but is he really all that? Is he that far ahead of someone like Delap?
Enciso looks a talent tbf.Enciso, Pedro spring in mind
From Brentfords, Mbuemo maybe
Has the potential to be very good if he can keep clear of injuries.Quite a few on here mentioning Evan Ferguson but is he really all that? Is he that far ahead of someone like Delap?
True, but look at what playing together did for both Savinho and Dovbyk...I reckon Savinho could adapt to it more readily than Doku.
So we go from playing a Doku-Haaland-Savinho front line to a Grealish-Foden-Bernardo front line? Not for me, not now. Have you watched how KDB has been deployed in the current set up? Floating about, drifting wide, and pumping long thru balls for the forwards to run onto. That won't work without the current wingers and a 9 who can run in behind. It's a better plan than signing a 9 that isn't good enough to rely on when Haaland is out. Who would you be comfortable with us starting 10 games in a row (for example) if Haaland is out injured?
I can't think of a player that is good enough, available and willing to take a back seat most of the time. Better off going with what we have and then deploying a false 9 as and when necessary.
I bet they are. He’s rubbish. He’s not fit enough to get in the Ajax side, according to reports in the Dutch press, though the club are open to him moving.
Like who ? Plus saying end of doesn’t make you right, I don’t mind which way the club decide go but those preferring false 9 have as much chance of being right as those wanting some or any back up striker. So we go from playing a Doku-Haaland-Savinho front line to a Grealish-Foden-Bernardo front line? What you're underestimating is how much better playing in our current system playing with this crop of players would be for a good striker. It doesn't have to be a world class striker. Having a second #9 in no way diminishes the overall profile of this squad...we have both the means and the space. Whether we get one or not any City supporter should be at least hoping we do, end of.
Probably more chance of being right but it's not really about that. I have seen a bunch of name thrown about since Alvarez went and I wouldn't fancy any of them leading our line for an extended period if Haaland is injured. I'd much prefer to go back to a false 9.Like who ? Massive potential. 19 years old. Big, strong, box presence, good with both feet, in the air, finisher...Foden was a very promising 19 year old once who had to sit behind KDB, Gundo, Bernardo, and D Silva inside and Sterling, Mahrez, and Sane outside. Pep babied him along in terms of playing time and that seems to have worked out just fine.Has the potential to be very good if he can keep clear of injuries.
I don't see any reason why Savinho or Doku (though I generally prefer Grealish anyway) can't play within the false 9 system but I'd prefer that to a front line featuring some of the names I've seen mentioned as back-ups for Haaland! So we go from playing a Doku-Haaland-Savinho front line to a Grealish-Foden-Bernardo front line?
